    Hello,

I`d like to add an Island to my game that has water all around and gets smaller over time. Currently I am not sure how to realise this, since the player is moving an object on this island and when the sand under his feet vanishes he should fall into the water.

Just as an experiment I`ve tried to use a couple of cubes alligned perfectly (with V) to simulate an island consisting of multiple items. Unfortunately the player object was not able to move from one to another of these cubes, even though they were perfectly aligned. Only if I was steering left and right I was able to move to the next one.

So what do you guys think would be a good approach? Modeling an island (without trees and so on) and scale it down on two axis over time? But what would I do with the texture and Trees that should be on the island later?

Procedural terrain maybe? Or the Unity terrain, which I think shouldn`t be too hard to use, except I have to find a way to shrink it from the outside to the center. Mhhhhh

Hope any of you can help with some basic ideas and thoughts about that.

Btw. the island should just be sand and a couple of trees later (3-4). No mountains or big rocks or anything like that.

Your reason for not using multiple objects shouldn't be that *I couldn't move*. Your movement code is probably fixable.

A reason for not using multiple objects could be performance, but maybe batching would take care of that.

If you had a sloping terrain, you could simple raise the water level gradually, and make the island smaller that way.
