Should I split a terrain for baking into higher resolution?

    Hi, this is probably a noob question but, when you bake a little larger terrain let's say 2k x 2k that you couldn't set the resolution too high and the Unity it's gonna warning you that if you do so it may take a long even infinite time to bake. But what if I really need the high resolution lightmaps for special area, a town with street lights for example. Does this makes sense that if I split the terrain to chunks so I can make them to be baked into higher resolution? Like I said...noob question.

    The unity warning is not important!
