@neginfinity: ok i got that....i'm just trying understand which license overtakes which. Like....gpl vs unity one or unity over the one of your presumed source. Seems like the first.

Congrats on getting it "done" and Greenlit. That is a big thing in itself.

I'm not into these military shooter style games. Something a lot of people seem to love. Just not me.

The biggest issues I see are...
    1. The frame-rate in the video makes it seem like the game is unplayable.

    2. The majority of the video shows the player walking around looking at the sky. That makes no sense unless the player is expecting troops to come parachuting down or aliens arriving. It kind of gives the impression that you are trying to hide the actual game itself because maybe there is nothing in it. I am not saying that is the case just that it sort of comes across that way.

Show what you actually do in the game. That should be the majority of the video. Show the most intense action. The quietest quiet (and perhaps very tense) moments. The most dramatic things. Then show some of the bog standard gameplay.
If you can greatly improve the performance (decrease the graphics FX & streamline the levels if you have to) that will be a big step in the right direction. Then make a new video showing the game not the sky. Let people see the gameplay and the much improved performance.

Not sure if any of that is helpful but there it is anyway.

When combining code from multiple sources you need to comply with all licenses. And you can't combine proprietary (Unity engine) with GPL.

Here's the link to my "presumed source":
    https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.en.html

Well, the title of this video is definitely a hit.

Good lord, if the space station is the most fun this game has to offer then I'd hate to play the other two levels.

After seeing the beginning to this thread (and the other thread he made some time ago) I'm inclined to believe that he actually thought he had something good but once people started tearing up his delusion he went "oh its all joke i troll you lolololol".

The proper thing to do would be to take the game down and put it back up after you have taken out the GPL code. How much GPL code are you using and how difficult will it be to remove it?

    Sadly it doesn't :(.

The angry fatty, commonly known as "Jim F**kin Sterling" has about 10k views on his "great" channel., per video If he was actually a real youtuber that will bring traffic. However it brought...well zero....

And If he was actually smarter he'd actually do a game himsself and get positive reviews rather than serve as a moral dump to half-retarded "developers" who are boosting their ego that some game sucks, because they can't even make their own. He's like a loser's hero - they know he fails, but they're happy he's one of them.

anyway again: no, he is not interesting and brought zero traffic - this place here and one steam thread are the only people who know he exists...

I've received many emails from others though: 15 today asking about twitch, free keys, blogs, etc. etc.

    None.

The video is creative commons which i thought is 100% the same as gpl...well it's not but who cares lool...

Sorry, no taking down after cheap attempts liek last year with the funny troll and his Saturday night "takedown notice". Lol...the trolls.

I may take it down for other reasons, but again: not to feed the frustrated trolls. Ssorry, won't happen that way.

I understand that I am just a troll and all, but I'm curious, did you actually think it was any good or were you just hoping to make a few bucks dumping it on Steam?

I would think that Sterling covering your game was like your goal. That you thought it might be such a trainwreck that people might check it out for a laugh, no?

I'm fairly sure it was a joke that it would bring traffic. It might bring a few trolls to your forums, but bad games like this are a dime a dozen these days. No-one is going to buy a game that people say is bad and that you can't even make look good in a trailer.

Maybe he already knows he can't make a good game on his own? What would be the point of making a game for commercial purposes with the full knowledge that the game is going to be bad? He's at least smart enough to know not to waste his own time and cares enough about the gaming community to not contribute to its shovelware problem.

And the BBC on several occasions, but hey, what credibility do those guys have, huh?
