Hey All, We have a monthly shmup jam running through 2015 and we would love to see more Unity games, and experience brought into the mix! This is the #shmupjam Shmups, Shoot-em-ups, STGs etc. The jams are all about these games and derivations. As long as your game conforms in some way to the Wikipedia definition, its ok by us! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shmup **UPDATES** We are currently into our 5th wave of the shmupjam. The theme is the last of the 16-bit era, which is a precursor to that which will surely involve much more in the way of 3d graphics. I won't fill this thread with the compilation images created for waves 1-4 (Since most of the games created so far have been 2d, html5, in other engines. However, please, if you have an interest in the genre. We would love to see you getting involved. The games are being collected on Gamejolt. Which does allow Unity exports. But to take part, all you really need to do is post progress in this or similar threads and use the #shmupjam You can find more information about the jam on this thread in TIGsource.. http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=47261.0 We are Buko-Studios, http://www.buko-studios.com we create graphics and games professionally, and we invite anyone with an interest in shmup action games to join along with us on this Jam. The idea was to start off easy with the earliest created shmups as inspiration. Then we steadily grow in experience and tools each month allowing us to tackle more complex games. The rules are fairly open for this jam.. it's not really a competition, just for fun. Create something retro looking, modernise a classic.. If you find yourself with a free weekend, perhaps simplicity could be the key to getting in a quick submission. You have a whole month per jam, so plenty of time. If you are into this genre, or simply just want to give it a go, we'd love to see you there. You might also check out our Shmup community over on deviant art the Shmuproom, which has all kinds of inspiration on it too. http://www.shmuproom.deviantart.com Joining In There is no sign-up required.. simply get involved in the forum posts and game portals.
