Welcome to the ShiVa 2.0 Beta! After spending a very long time in development, we finally decided that our new editor is ready for public testing. If you have purchased a ShiVa license after Jan 1st 2012, you are invited to download the installer package from our Beta Website beta.shivaengine.com and take part in the first testing phase: Framework, Authoring Tool, and HTML5/WebGl.

Hello, i'm an user of ShiVa (advanced & basic) and Unity Pro with Android and iOS + PSM (WPhone+ BB too), i published games with both engines in all available platforms and I can say that ShiVa works better with C++ exports and it does not depends on .net libs, the compilation time is shorter, the shaders are self-written, it has autobatching, profiler, gpu accel , and some other features in common too, you have a really good community and support. So I choose ShiVa for big and artistic projects and Unity for more commercial games.
I wrote something about this engine here
    http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/Juan...08877/Optimization_tips__tricks_for_ShiVa.php

When I presented the alpha version of a game made with Shiva in a videogame conf, people asked me if it was "next-gen" game running in XBONE ,but it was running on an Ouya XD

You talk about mobile , where perhaps Shiva can be a cheaper and good alternative to Unity.
But your presented game in Gamasutra is s simple mobile game far from some Xbone one game.
On desktop PC game side, Shiva 2 is still in Beta , still a work in progress, many things from what i read are not in, not finalized.
Will it have as least what Unity 5 will propose in terms of PBS and lightening features ?
I also think it will be a long delay before Shiva 2 it gets out to public and ready for game production.

For mobile perhaps Shiva is cheaper solution than Unity Pro. For PC games UE4 for example is a better deal today. Some of use are not expecting it to be able to match Unity 5 or UE4 in terms of features (it never had some terrain editor for example).
