Bug Shift key presses change the selected item in right side project panel

Pressing either of the shift keys with an item selected in the right hand project panel, will unselect the current item(s) and then select the next item. This happens in list and icon view. It is making it hard to select groups of items to delete or be dragged around.

The expected behaviour is for the current selection to stay the same while allowing more items to be selected.

I am running standard Ubuntu 18.04 in HiDPI mode. I have tested this on 2018.2.2f1 (current project) and 2018.2.7f1 (most recent available download) and both are affected.
