Shield particle system

    I'm trying to make a shield using particle systems for the visuals.
    I want it to look something like this (at 8:20):


    But since I'm very bad at particle systems, I have no idea how to start. Is there a good tutorial series that I could follow in order for me to get better at particle systems, and in the end be able to create something like that?

    I have already tried following a tutorial series on particle systems, but it didn't really help. I haven't gotten better at all.....

    that effect largely isn't a particle system.

    what you are seeing is a plane revolved 360 into a disk then rounded into hemisphere . the reason being it then has a texture scrolling laterally, it is also blended additive and a glow post processing

    there is a forum dedicated to VFX and happens to have a thread precisely detailing what you are seeing

    I looked at the link, and while it gives a fairly good explanation of some things, I still don't know how to achieve said goal.

    what parts?

    import/export,modeling, UV, texturing, shader/material, post processing?
