OUCH! I just updated and my license is gone! And I can't seem to get a new one? Now I'm dead in the water.

Switching back to the v2 HUB, then back to the beta resolved it. Weird.

Im also having issues with my licence vanishing. I was unable to reactivate my seat via its serial code as well. I tried logging out and back in, but wasn't able to log back in after logging out. Dropping out of the beta to V2 fixed everything. if i reinstall the beta i just lose my licence again. ouch indeed!

I also have problems with the license with V3 beta 3, moving back to V2.4.5 until it's solved.

Immediately after updating this, there was a license error, and when I went back to 2.4.5 and updated again, it was authenticated.

The new update prompts for license activation and keeps complaining about internet connection problem to activate license. Anyone else facing the same?

license error went away after a few hub restarts - no idea why
Now it just takes forever for beta3 to start.

Another bug I've recorded with beta.2 before updating to beta 3 (can't check it in beta 3 because of licensing bug):
    - open project saved with older Unity version when you have
    - press "Choose another Editor version"
    - see empty screen

    Attached bug video here.

    ADDED:
Looking at beta 3 changelog, I believe it should be fixed in beta 3:
    • Solved issue causing Hub to go blank when choosing another editor version for a project
Will recheck when it will be possible to open projects.

Hi everyone, Is there a link to 2.x Hub, rather than being forced into a beta? Same licensing issues and so I can't get any work done. Thank you!

Glad I didn't update since I see a lot of users with license activations.

I did want to bring up some issues I've seen with the beta:
I'm unable to tell it where to download cloud projects, something I was able to do in the old hub.
Sometimes when clicking to open a project, it will open another project on my list as well.
There is no easy way to check for updates to the hub. As in I clicked on the update but didn't follow through and now it doesn't give the option to update the hub.

Switching to the new Unity hub leaves me with an
"No active licenses To create and open projects, you need an active license."
If i try to get the personal one all i get is:
"There was a problem activating a new personal license. Make sure you are logged in, and have internet connection."

This works fine in the old client.

licensing feature is fuclced ofter after updating beta.3.
if you have an issue with license then just restart your system.
then sometime it will be fixed without renewing the license.

I'm using Unity Hub 3.0.0 on freshly installed Windows
There's a problem installing unity 2019.4.29f1 android modules
When installing Android SDK And NDK tools module. after the SDK is installed and the NDK begins downloading a message pops "failed to delete old unity android support" with retry to abort options I tried all the workaround found here with no success.
If you explore the PlaybackEngines\AndroidPlayer\ you see a single SDK folder and that's it. deleting this folder and clicking retry on the pop message would continue normally the installation of NDK. after it finishes, but now there's no SDK folder, you can go back to the trash bin and restore that SDK folder, then you can also install the OpenJDK normally.
The thing is the SDK is not properly installed and is missing a lot of files (Almost all of them) So copying or linking an external Android SDK works

It didn't worked first after beta 4 installation but manual Unity Hub restart finally fixed it for me ^^

Speaking of release notes...in HUB 2.4.5, it's easy to get to the Release Notes of any release of Unity. I don't see that available in version 3. I often use that to determine whether to upgrade right away or wait for another minor version, depending on what was fixed. I'd like to see a link in here, anywhere, pointing to the "what's new" page for that version. i.e., https://unity3d.com/unity/whats-new/2020.3.17

I am disappointed we still can't add modules to manual installs of Unity.
Also automatic detection of manual installs would be very cool.
I hope it's on your radar.

    Morning!
I saw a duplicated project after installing Unity Hub 3.0.0-beta4. I tried to remove from list and open it again. But same. I also installed version 2020.3.17f1 before.

Very minor thing, but when opening things it is natural to double click since we have to do that so often. The hub then tries to open two instances, would be nice if it just ignored the second click.

    upload_2021-8-28_9-23-15.png

And I second the ability to set the Unity default project path.

    Thank you,

    Justin

Second this, would be nice to not auto-select Documentation every time I'm adding new modules to the existing installations as well.

This is pretty annoying to scroll down and uncheck it every time since I don't need local docs and I believe most devs do prefer using online docs nowadays especially knowing we can easily jump between versions there when necessary, thus it seems it would be more user-friendly to have docs unchecked by default.

In the latest version, 3.0.0 beta 4. When you open a project folder, it adds it to the hub, but instead of just adding it.

It opens up the latest installed unity version, regardless of the project version, for me that is the 2020.3 LTS version. I have not tested before 2019 project, BUT it should not use a default editor, unless you can set it. BUT really should not open the project until you tell it to.

This should not open up the project, until you say which version you want it to open it with.

    -Edit:

Upon further playing around with projects. IT seems you might have added a drop down for the Open vs Add Project from Disk. The Open, really should have a way to set which editor to use. (My only guess is to uninstall 2021 and higher, so it doesn't confuse which editor I want - NOT ideal)

OR have an option to default to the original add than open as expect before.

Linux: Wayland support is still missing.
Please fix this, since nearly every Linux distro has switched the Display Server to Wayland.
Ubuntu as example already switched in the non-LTS version and will switch into the LTS soon!

And in XWayland (The Legacy X11 implementation) the Sign-In Option doesn't work. After my browsers opens the URI and redirect it to the Unity Hub the hub itself opens but not signing in.

I really like the new Hub! I wish the Learn tab displayed my progress (badges, points...) and give me a quick access to the new lesson, picking up where I left off instead of sending me to the website.

In beta 4 Add license doesn't Add the license. It overwrites the current license instead.

Initial loading time in macos between clicking the app and opening is pretty notorious. Between 8 and 10 seconds for me on a MacBook Pro 2019 i9. A minimal loading screen would be nice.

Actually, beta 3 was OK. With beta 4 every time I launch the HUB I have to re-enter ALL the serials.
Quite annoying - and apparently it propagated to the non-beta as well :/

I wish it did! For me just keeps cleaning the licenses and never actually saving anything :/

    Where's the "revert to beta3" button? :p

All projects i open become listed twice in Hub, with the only difference being forward and backward slash in project Path, like this image: upload_2021-9-2_16-33-15.png

I really like the beta, and the only problem I ever have with it is installing Android on new editor versions. As others have described and reported.

To install Android successfully, I have to run Hub in administrator mode, and install just the editor itself, and then install just the android parent module, and then install each of the submodules one at a time.

    Noticed this release note
    • Fixed sub modules installation when Android parent module was already installed
That seems to explain why this workaround in particular seems more consistent than the batch process. But I hope you're able to figure it out soon!

(Basically, installing all Android modules at once along with a new editor causes the main three non-gradle modules to fail to get installed, but Hub thinks it has already installed them and won't offer to validate the installation or reinstall, so the only recourse is to uninstall the whole editor version and step through it one at a time in administrator mode.)

It's the only snag I can find in an otherwise very slick and nice-looking experience! (for some reason I keep on trusting it to work every time I try to update my editor(s)... so I keep hitting this snag, because everything else about Hub works so well that I keep thinking it must have been a fluke.)

Got my Hub alongside its Editors folder installed on the M.2 primary SSD. I also feel like this issue is relatively recent... I picked up Hub pre-1.0 and I remember it always used to handle android submodules fine.

Looking forward to this Hub overhaul going live :)

How to reproduce duplicate project bug:
    upload_2021-9-2_22-24-39.png

    1. Press Open button at Projects tab
    2. In opened dialog, select project folder and press Select folder
    3. It will start opening without asking what Unity version to use
    4. Now close opened Unity
    5. And select Open > Add project from disk
    upload_2021-9-2_22-29-21.png
    6. Repeat step 2.
    7. See selected project duplicated at the projects list with inverted folder separator char.

Please, add an ability to work in Unity Hub with hotkeys.
My most desired hotkets for me are:
    1. Jump to Search box.
    2. Navigating in projects list with arrows and open project with enter.
    3. Open project from list. E.g. by pressing Alt/Option in each project name some letter transforms to underlined and then by pressing combination of Alt+`underlined letter` project starts to open.

It would nice if I could select all the installed platforms not just a few of them.
    Thanks.
