I know typically people love to share successful and good results of their work.
But sharing otherwise, can be fun and valuable too ;)

So I would like to share one of my recent and weird for me bug, which came completely unexpectedly.

And I hope that you drop some of your "bad" (funny, or weird) experience too, to share with community.
Preferably in form of picture and maybe few fords of description.

I was messing about with hexa sphere.
Of course it meant to be sphere.
But instead, become this ....

Currently looking for lurking bug ...

Looks like that sphere grew arms and is punching something. Sure that's a bug and not a new feature? If you could work out why that happened, and how to control it.... Maybe it could be an interesting mechanic.

@Pixie40 I fixed, ... ups I unfortunately broke that feature.
But foldable hex sphere could be an interesting concept (See StarWars toy pic, lower in this post).

There was accumulation of 2 bugs, in two different places. Such hard to track.

Had fun debugging, when not known, why couldn't render full sphere. Literally bug was laughing in my hex sphere face. Some semi-conscious bug? (Can you see eyes and mouth?)

    (find differences)

    Some other debugging time:

In prime picture, it kind of reminds me Dead Star from StarWars :)

Any one familiar with foldable dead star toys? :)

That could make for an interesting level design. Actually, that last pic reminds me of the Micro Machines, Mighty Max, and Little Pollyanna toys. from the 80's and early 90's.

Here is another one, trying add more features.
    Like tiles height and colors.

My buggy hex sphere inside ... (quite inspirational, isn't it? )

Well, same context, I got another one, while trying change something in the generation hex sphere algorithm.
I generate to hex spheres, with 2 different approaches.
Left one is correct one, while right one is bugged :)
    But I like them ...

I don't even know, how I managed to create such :)

I had one that amused me, once figured out what was going on. I had a basic character controller wired up in a scene working on some simple prototyping. Nothing that should create any crazy bugs; right? Except the character kept vanishing. Tried locking the editor window to follow the character, and it ends up in the middle of nowhere.

I finally figured out that I'd fat-fingered a starting value and the character was jumping about 1,000 times higher than it was supposed to, like someone strapped a rocket to it. The camera was height locked, so it didn't follow the jump.

I made a game on steam a few years ago where enemies are basically different basic shapes, usually spheres, which fall from the sky and land around you. I had a physics issue where they would sometimes fall through the terrain. It was just basic rigidbody with sphere collider falling using regular gravity, nothing fancy.

Continuous collision detection would prevent that problem, but the performance hit was too high. In the end I figured out that if I added a slight spin to the falling objects, when they hit the terrain they would not fall through anymore. Ship it!

Here's the game trailer to make it more clear.

@Joe-Censored This is cool example, where bug caused introduction of actually nice feature, by adding seems like ad-hock solution :D

yeah it was the first thing that came to mind lol (not sure if you know the meme)

    https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/hmm-yes-the-floor-here-is-made-out-of-floor

"Hmm Yes the Floor Here Is Made Out of Floor, also known as Buzz Lightyear's "Hmm," refers an image of Buzz Lightyear with a comically stretched-out face looking down at a quilted blanket and is said whenever something is blatantly obvious."

I think I have seen it long time ago. But it made me think twice, to link it with your cache error message. My brain didn't clicked it initially. :)

This is what it looks like when you intentionally go over the vertex limit in 2010 :)
I had way too many of those rectangular studs.
I made a quad tree to mesh merge into smaller game objects as needed.

Didn't think a Unity survey was going to cause me an existential crisis.
