Bug Shadow Strength Settings Drastically Changes Entire Image | Unity LTS 2020.3.20+ | iOS Build

    Hey guys!
    Recently I found the bug that happened when I was migrating project from 2018.4.31f1 to 2020.3.23f.
    This happens only on iOS build.
    When you change the shadow strength on directional light to 0.86 (just for example) it affects the entire screen in a strange way: from flashing to negative image.
    I thought that bug could only happen only with my shaders or something I changed. But you can recreate this with default unity settings on default cubes and planes.

    Unity setup - Default
    Built-in Render Pipeline + Gamma Color Space

    Steps for reproducing:
    1. Create an empty 3d project
    2. Change platform in build settings on iOS
    3. Setup Cube and Plane so you can see them
    4. Change the Shadow Strength parameter of Directional Light to 0.86 for negative image and 0.8 to flashing image
      from the 2020.3.20 you can see this problem already in the editor in the Game window
    5. Build
    Shadow Strength 0.86 and Shadow Strength 0.8

    I tried many options in Player Settings, but I can't find anything that works.
    Maybe I don't know something obvious, I don't know.
    Right now I'm using 2020.3.19

    The same thing is happening in 2021.3.1f1
    UPD: Seems like this problem affects only Mac Editor, on Windows it works fine

    Any solutions? Tried 2021.3.6f, 2021.3.7f, 2021.3.8f but no luck. MacOS Monterey 12.3.1

    Happening to my project too when I update from 2019 to 2021.3.9f1. Yet with a complete new and fresh 2021 project it works well.

    In my my own project it changes color intensity, saturation, exposure and who knows what. There are no soft shadows at all. And as seen in the screenshots in the OG post, light and shadow can be completely reversed. Depending on how you move the Strength slider of the realtime shadow it goes into complete black or complete white.

    I tried as well to export my 2019 project as unity package and imported it into 2021 editor, same problem.

    I tried to replace the lights, same problem.

    I tried with pretty much any setting in lights and objects as well as quality settings. No luck.

    2021.3.9f1, intel iMac Monterey

    Looks like this bug has regressed. Just had this bite me on 2021.3 & 2022.2; on a Mac set build target for IOS then slide shadow strength slider on a directional light and crazy shadow map glitches occur. Reported (IN-36845)

    Been chasing this for days, finally discovered this thread. Can confirm happening on 2021.3.5f1 MacOS with iOS build settings in editor.
