Shadow affects normal ?

Hi guys,

I'm currently working on my first asset pack / demo for asset store, and I've encountered this problem after baking GI into my scene, the shadow seems to be warping the light around itself, as if normal map got somehow affected ? This might be a very simple tweak, however this is my first experience with baking GI in Unity pretty much, so any ideas ?

Anybody? On the screenshot below you can see what I mean, it looks as if shadow on the floor distorts normal on the edges.

Also what might be causing such lightmap UV seams on the model ?

 

Compressed Directional Specular lightmaps are known for causing artifacts some times. Try to bake without compressed lightmap to see if the issue still happens.

 

Switched off compressed, shadow still oddly warps the light around itself in the same fashion, hmm

 

same issue here, so far looks like there is no solution on the forums

so far from what i noticed, it has to do something with metallic and smoothness... once i brought it down no artifacts... but that's not a solution because you do want that highlight.

They are planning to remove Directional Specular - So fix is not to use it

 

Thanks for pointing that out, just about time. I was going to release my asset with directional specular baked lighting.
