Shader : compile & view code (VSCode not viewable)

    I've been using VSCode (1.4) and testing around in Unity (5.4.0p1) on Linux Mint 'Sarah' now, again...

    I have noticed that when editing shaders, I'm not able to 'compile & show code'... well, atleast it isn't showing the compiled code. There's no errors, no anything; however, it does pop VSCode to the foreground, so something is happening...

    not really sure if this is a bug, or just an absent feature... either with the VSCode plugin for Unity or something else.. I really have no clue where to begin checking...
