Hi. I must be doing something wrong. But every time I create an animation and then change it to Legacy, it then disappears from the Animation Window drop down list of clips. It still appears in my animation folder but no longer appears in the Animation Window. Any idea why this is happening? I'm very frustrated.

    Thank you!

Does the selected game object that you are editing in the animation window does have an animation component or an animator component? Legacy clip are for the animation component only

Hi there. Thanks for responding. I always put both an animation and animator component on each object. Would it help you for me to take screenshots? Thank you!

Care to share why you always use both components?

lol...I guess I don't know why I do that. Is that why animations keep disappearing?

legacy animations only work with legacy rig characters, so when you have a character/object selected that is not legacy and change the animation to legacy - it will not be available for that character/object anymore.
When you change the rig type of the character/object to legacy the animation should be available once again.
