yes the apocalyptic world series is still in the works.
Part 2: Rundown Suburbs has been submitted and will be live very soon :)

There is not many city builders on the asset store and nothing to resemble New York so its a must really lol

It is very astounding how much you have managed to do in such a short period of time.
Both the models and the textures look really good.

As we show the progress of our assets from start to release we don't want to make people wait forever for an asset so every asset we create has
    a 1 week deadline.

That being said this one may take a bit longer as New York is a very complex city

    Thanks

We don't use generated textures all our textures are made from high resolution photos so gives the models a great amount of detail.

we ain't even done half of the models yet so this asset will continue to grow over this week.
this is a modular asset, with the amount of models in this there should be no reason not to be able to create most buildings in New York :)

It is a clever marketing deal to make a competition this way, and with such wonderful assets. I loved the apocalyptic asset series and I love this already. Count me in and keep up the good work.

    Thanks

We have textured allot of the city and we are getting great performance with very low draw calls (Using custom Shaders included in this package) and is with real-time lighting and shadow so would be even better with light-mapping

All the asset are named test1/test2 and so on for now as we have not decided on on a total Polly count as yet, we can safely say it wont be available for mobile once complete

Props will have LOD but building faces wont.

we will be continuing on this asset tomorrow and i will post an update later in the day :)

    Update as promised

I said i would post an update today Update so here it is

as this asset will support a full day and night Cycle i i have put together a small scene of assets
we have created so far (not all ar textured)

All assets in this scene are using the same shader and is running without backing emission or global illumination so still
a lot of room to make this asset look even better

Not to worry we will be adding a lot more signs/ billboards and more advert textures

    Thank you

it is marketing as well, as forums are the only way of showing an asset during the development

Is this asset going to be a drag and drop things and then we will have NYC in our scene or is it an asset that gives us everything and we place it ourselves?

So will this have the actual New York City in it or will it just have a generic city with New York style buildings?

As we price all our assets by size, i cant really say yet as we have not long started the asset .
i will give an estimated price when the asset is close to finish :)

it will have some sample scenes of places in new York but not contain New York in full as we want people to be imaginative with this asset

You should charge less than $75 as you can buy the island of Manhattan and parts of the surrounds boroughs online for $75. There are only not too badly done versions in Google Warehouse that are sufficient low poly for a capable texturer.

I was referring to the Manhattan boroughs that I paid $75 for. Quite nice it is, but very large as it is NYC!

Are you going to make the blocks modular or is this an asset meant only for those with the latest dual-video card rigs?

This asset is a modular asset and will NOT require a high end card to run.

We have modular asset on the asset store of Manhattan already, we will be giving that asset a make over and it we be within this package

if you have paid for for Manhattan and are happy with that than that's a good thing.
we do not force anyone to purchase our asset than don't want to.

Wow, that looks great. It'd be interesting to see how far you can push something like that along with the Unity Pro occlusion culling feature.

That's a very good point we will give it a go to see if i could run an open would

    Thanks :)

Sorry this asset wont be supported on mobile as it would limit what we can do.

A modular is made up of model sections that a fits together using Unitys vertex snap feature to allow for maximum customization

Very nice guys, cannot wait until you finish Chicago, Miami and L.A. :D

Anything that is decent quality that I can drop into my scenes and makes my workflow more efficient gets a nod from me. Keep up the good work.
