Serious license issues using hub and editors

Recently I reported I had license issues with the Unity Hub in combination with already installed Unity editor versions. It seemed there was something going wrong with a license file being already in use and because of this the Unity Hub won't start or did but then without any GUI content.

Recently I've tried to install the hub again and did encounter straight away several issues:

While I already have multiple editors installed which use a Plus serial just fine, it seems that the Unity hub fails to locate a serial on my machine. This results in when starting the hub it will ask for a serial. When I fill in the serial I see a warning that the serial is invalid or can't be activated. So I thought what's going on?
I go to my online account and see that my serial has 2 activations. So what I do is reset the serial activations so it's on 0. Then I fill in the serial on the Hub and it works! However when starting any unity editor I do see a splash screen but it won't launch the software further on. After the splash screen it just quits.
So I try to start the editor by hand and it seems the editor won't start because it doesn't recognize there is a serial activated trough the Hub. So I fill in a serial and it tells me it's already used 2 times. I check online and yes it's activated 2 times, but how? because I did reset it before activating the hub.

    What's going on?
It seems that the unity editors and hub both manage a license file but also both not on the same place or maybe there is something else wrong with the management of it. Because whenever I reset my serial online to 0 activations, whenever I start the hub and fill in the serial the editor's need one filled in as well otherwise they won't launch from the hub. But whenever I activate the editor by hand it goes to 2 activations and then I can't do anything.
When I fill in the serial only at the editor the hub will ask for a serial and when filled in it will display it has exceeded 2 activations and won't start. Online I see the activations on the same machine go from 0 to 1 to 2 when trying to use both with a serial. So there is something going very well wrong with the management of the serial. It could have to do with how the file is saved using multiple users on the same machine and that both hub and editor have different rules for this. I can't find what's going on, but I know I can't have a hub and editor both activated. So this moment the Hub is completely useless to me. I don't mind that the hub won't use any serial file as the editor already know it, so I don't understand why you need to fill in the serial 2 times in different applications. Why can't we just activated 1 editor and be done, why activate a serial on the hub as well and have these kind of issues?

I also tried to clean my computer from all installations, hub and editors and start over again by installing unity from the hub itself. But then the editor won't start, because it isn't activated while the hub is. So activating a serial trough the hub at the moment is completely useless. Activating it trough an editor and not using the hub is the only workaround for the moment.

Let me know when this is going to be solved, because I was really happy to use the hub, but since it's existence I wasn't able to use it successfully at all so far.

    Hi @JDMulti

We're truly sorry about the trouble this is causing. We're aware of the problem and the team is actively working on a fix for the Hub. If you're interested to try an early build of the Hub that includes the fix (and we would definitely appreciate the feedback) please send me a PM and I can follow up with you directly. If that's not possible, we aim to release this fix in the upcoming Hub update.

    Thanks
    Daniel

Just a question, regarding the fix.
If you (Unity Tech) are looking for feedback regarding the newest version. Should there not be like a 0.16.1 or a link somewhere to download it with a warning being like experimental?
As I took over a thread like two weeks ago about this same issue and it stopped getting replies from Unity team members even though more people came forward and also mentioned this issue.

    @JackPS9.

Sorry for the delay and if I missed your previous post. We're happy to get more feedback on the fix but wanted to be cautious since it's not technically a patch build and it doesn't break other behaviours. If you'd like to test it as well please PM me directly and I'll send you the links. We're hoping if all goes well that the fix will be merged into the 0.17 release.

    Thanks,
    Daniel
