Hi. I am looking for serious education Unity Projects rather than games. There is a Word Project in the Asset Store which is OK, but I am really looking for a Project for teaching and learning concepts in disciplines such as engineering, physics, science.
Any pointers please? Thank you :)

What are you trying to do? Are you trying to use Unity to design educational programs yourself? In such a case you can really approach this pretty much the same way as game dev, except you're probably trying to do something more focused (and your user interface can be way crappier :p).

I initially used Unity for a cellular automaton, which I use in academic research. I eventually moved to a WinForm, but the fundamentals work the same in Unity (and some future problems may have worked better in Unity, but oh well).

So what specifically are you trying to do?

I would say the interface has to be 'more accessible' given the specifics of a good learning activity :D

Currently I have students working with me in my research lab to develop Unity -based VR applications focussing upon serious education contexts such as engineering or medical.
There are a lot of companies developing customized industrial solutions in Unity.
However, I do not know of a repository of serious education solutions 'made with Unity' similar to the Unity Asset store.
Unity Asset store is great for game examples, so I am specifically looking for an equivalent for serious education, training and/or industrial solutions made with Unity. A kind of ResearchGate for Unity researchers. If there is such a place.

    Thank you.

Well I'm sure you're aware, but most scientific software have terrible user interfaces. So you can "get away" with more there.

I don't know of any such repository, so you may be out of luck if you're planning to use other such software.

i'd think most of the vr learning apps are really simple..
i mean usually you can observe things, move/rotate/pickup..
all those features are pretty much already in with unity+vr..

i've actually been working on this eduvr project
    http://www.edu2vr.com/

but literally its just bunch of normal things added into vr.. (selfpaced or remote controlled classes, quizzes, viewing 2D/360 videos, runtime scripting support: for teachers to create learning experiances(minigames), 3D model viewer, wave simulations, regular slides, terrains, physics, voice messages, multiplayer rooms etc..)

This seems like a good idea to me, using educational platforms like Unity would help you both polishing your skills as well as help you gain experience working on real-time projects which is the best thing for a University student to get ready for a successful career ahead.

You'll probably find some useful stuff on the AssetStore. The key is to focus on the functionality that you want, rather than the domain. I'm sure there'll be lots of overlap. After all, if something does what you want then who cares whether it was originally meant for games?
