    Sentieri is going to start beta stage this week...and a great feature will come during the beta ...



    We already support Awesome Vegetation Studio and MicroSplat Terrain Shader

    Maybe I missed it but would it be possible to have the road randomly vary in thickness?

    For example, instead of
    ______________
    |_____________|

    Something like

    __,--------._...--.._
    |_..--..__....__.-._|

    I think it would be useful for dirt pathways that aren't meant to be perfectly trim

    Currently you can define the profile of the road. I can add a bit of noise tho the profile moving along the spath to increase realism ..

    Path created ( with road meshes as well ) is 4.000 Km ( right side inspector )
    ..but long time to generate .. 287 ms .,,,yeah . I know terrain is complex . mountains and lake ...but maybe I can go below the 150 ms .....

    Looks great!
    Two quick ones:

    1: This is tuned with Gaia, meaning the splatmap export will take into consideration the changes to the terrain the road has made?

    2: Is it possible to have a bit of randomness to the amount of "clean" / flatten area around the road? E.g like, if you set it to flatten 4 meters on each side of the road, can you make a parameter that randomly makes it less and more by itself? Will give it a natural look :)

    1. Currently Sentieri is inpendent from Gaia. There will be smart integration with Gaia2

    Great, thanks!
    It will really help the realistic look to have a bit of variation on the width and so on, because if it's exactly the same amount of width it looks a bit artificially.
    Random == nice ;p

    Btw, have you heared more about when Gaia2 comes? Can't find any news about that it seems...

    do you have it with a train rail example? (still trying to find one asset that makes a trail follow the path but at least this would help to begin it)

    I followed the path creation tutorial for Viking Island and Vegetation Studio and it worked great. One tiny UI issue, but not a show stopper. No crashes and the results were amazing.

    Plan is to release in next 3 weeks. I have not yet defined the price, I am exploring different options and get a clear idea in next 2 weeks

    Getting Vegetation Studio and I hope your Sentieri , was so hoping it could be around the same time.

    And just to confirm please.. Sentieri is compatible with CTS for the path shading options ?
    Also I would imagine it will be fine with Gaia 2 ?

    Wishing you a very successful launch and long term success in
    the asset store with Sentieri and any other assets you develop.

    ( I wish I was more skilled so I could ask for a beta ) :D

    Hopefully it will not be a long wait till Sentieri gets accepted to the
    store. Looking very forward to it.

    Like with Vegetation Studio I posted... Hopefully this will launch
    before Christmas, so you will have a great Christmas and a
    really great start to new year!
    From what I have seen of Sentieri, this is very needed in Unity. :)

    Was just curious if you've tested working over multiple terrains or not.... I currently have a huge map covering many, many terrains, and I would love to see if i could get rivers and roads to go for some distance across several of the terrain tiles...

    And it would be great if road/river/any meshes can be splited right with terrain border, it would be much easier to use with streaming solutions.
