So I have this issue and I think it's a bug, I have a terrain and I'm putting some big rocks in it, sometimes when I try to select some rocks the terrain is selected instead, and before I had a big skydome and the skydome was being selected (which is behind the rocks and the terrain), it looks like the objects farther from the scene camera is being selected, I tried messing with the fov selecting the objects and hitting F but not deal, the objects behind gets selected instead, is anyone else having this issue?
I started a new project and created the same situation and everything works as expected and when I got back to my project everything was working as expected too, this is the third time that this happens, every time I open the unity editor for the first time this happens and I need to open another project and then open my project back again to stop this issue.

Also, I'm very sure that this is a bug: if you put a terrain in a layer and lock that layer, you can still select the terrain.

Oh, so I'm not the only one.
There sure IS a bug with terrain still selectable even if you lock its layer.
It ALWAYS happens to me no matter if it's old project or new one.
Did you fill a bug report? I filled mine hope they will fix it because it makes level editing a horrible task atm.

Hey @TimGS, I don't remember if I filled a bug report, I always keep the automatic email that we receive when we fill a bug report but I think I deleted after so much time without answer, I even took a break from working on my level because of these issues, it's really laborious to level design with these bugs and that's very sad because Unity was supposed to be the one easy on this part but with so much bugs... the viewport was very laggy (thank goodness that was kinda fixed), you can't lock the terrain so you don't select due to this bug, when I try to select some objects (big rocks in my case) it selects an object behind it and our good old terrain system is a pain in the ass to work with because it is too outdated and don't offer too much tools to make better terrains...

edit: if you want to share your number I could vote!

Seems like my post is gone because of rollback.
Again, this will be fixed in 5.5 according to support email.
    Quite bad news...

Wow, that will take time... We are not even officially at 5.4. Thanks for the heads up anyway.
