"Select Material" in Inspector doesn't focus on the material in Project window

The Editor has extremely useful function - when you click texture icon in Inspector window, it automatically focus/jumps to the selected file in Project window. The same when you choose Select Material from the context menu etc.
This no longer works in my editor - when I click the texture or choose Select Material from the context menu (under three dots) in Inspector, it doesn't jump to the proper place in Project window. Basically nothing happens, it only highlights the focused file but it's unusable this way since the highlighted item can be in wrapped directory etc.

Does anyone had similar problem? If so - how did you solve it?

OMG - after hours of trying to find the solution, I found out that Project window also has a Lock option, same as Inspector window.:oops:  UPS, stupid me :)
So this is the answer - Unlock the lock in Project and it's done.
    Sorry for my dementia.

Just for completeness, the other way this can fail to work is if you click at runtime and the asset in question is now actually an Instantiate-d (or modified) copy of something in the Project.

Obviously it doesn't live in the project so there's nothing to highlight.

However, you CAN doubleclick the asset and the inspector will "dive in" and show you the transient only-in-memory asset.

I do wish there was a BACK button from that though.. the entire editor desperately needs BACK/FORWARD navigation!!

Thank you.. this was bothering me so much.. glad you offered the solution.
Sometimes unity makes the obvious so darn invisible.. A good UI designer would be a blessing for them. Stuff could be way more context-sensitive and bigger IMHO
