Is there something I'm missing? This is a default scene, default sphere, default material, URP for both, and the differences are pretty huge. Ideally I'd like stuff to look like the Unity 2020 version. Is there a global difference to the rendering from 2020 to 2121 that would affect the scene saturation or value this much globally with just the default parameters?

Whether or not it has effect depends on the light intensity!

The setting is only available if you go into debug mode in properties, but it's easier to set it in script tbh.

Light intensity. Like @SunnySunshine said, the setting is available if you go into the debug mode properties, but it can be significantly easier from script, assuming you know what you're doing.

Got it sorted, it was in the "player" setting of project settings. from Linear to "gamma".
