Bug search index stuck

    ... edit: it's just very very slow
    this project has only 25K files on a 3GB/s SSD this should be near instant, see Listary's real time search

    Mine has been stuck here for quite some time without any progress change.
    Might have started after some code file change or pulling code from git

    I have a fix for the Merge changes slow down. It will be pushed to 2021.2 and backported to 2021.1 in the upcoming days/weeks.

    I got this issue when updating from unity 2019 LTS lts URP to 2021.3.11f1 LTS
    It is stuck on the last 3 %

    This happens each time for the section "Readonly Material Converter".

    EDIT:
    I unselected Readonly since it was finished converting in my understanding anyway.
    After 20 minutes it completed

    the index builder runs for hours, never finishes and only causes stutter and found no way to disable the amazing "search" feature, which is not really that great, i happily use the project window anyday over that new "search feature" which is dreadful.

    Wish there was a project setting where i can simply "uncheck" use this search addon, and just continue to use my assets and project view as we have done for so many years..
