    Started working on another level. This level is geared towards close range combat, so it's pretty foggy.

    Coming a long way squared! The environment graphics are beautiful, the floors look so real! One thing that I would work on is adding some kind of bob or walking animation, because he's just "sliding" across the floor now (the protagonist).

    Got another gameplay video showing the new pistol model, new attachments, map, and one enemy making brilliant use of a smoke grenade.

    Looking better and better ;) Their aiming is still a bit too perfect. In the heat of battle, people are usually quite inaccurate. There is so many bullets flying everywhere, nobody can even see straight. Realistically, the odds of actually hitting your target would be roughly 100-1. But of course, that would just be too boring as slow, so games fix that by making it less realistic :p But you don't want it to be so unrealistic and unfair that each bullet hits. Especially when the screen flashes red every single time :p

    It certainly FEELS as if you're more damaged than you are doesn't it? But, in gameplay terms, those basic robots will have to hit you at least 25 times to drop your shields, IIRC (50 shields / 2 damage). And, they miss 60% of their shots at medium range - they just fire in bursts. I will tone down the flash, though. Good idea. :)

    Out of curiosity, is that 100-1 ratio an actual stat?

    Yes this is true. Well in the end, I'm cool with it as long as indeed the flash is toned down :p Maybe have it so that it only starts to flash when you're shield are either dropped, or you are close to death?

    Haha no it is not. But it seems close enough, with what I've seen and read about. Basically, it's my way of saying, it's pretty damn unlikely xD

    After smashing my face into my palm more times than I care to count, I finally got the attachments menu to show the changes in stats.

    Anyways, finished getting the pistol upgrades to work. Fully automatic-shotgun-hacking pistol = awesome!

    Got another 15 upgrades to work. Sniper Quickscope handle, Assualt Rifle RoF increase, Shotgun extra pellet, etc. It's kind of hard to show a picture of this sort of thing, but I'll try for the shotgun.

    Game looks very promising ;) Are you using ani asset for the efects? I mean particles effect, shoots, explossions... they look really well.

    I'd say use the bottom image. Just made the blue more of a cool glowing gradient-like thing. And make the metal moldings darker. :)

    Thanks for the input. :). As much as I want to make the "blue more of a cool glowing gradient-like thing," I'm not quite sure how to go about doing that (I'm definitely NOT an artist).

    great job squared55 im a newbie can i ask how did you make the terrain and paint it are you using 3dsmax,blender,maya,and photoshop? i would buy this game!!!!!!

    New webplayer demo! Press "P" to hide/unhide the mouse



    What's new:
    -New map
    -Store is fully functional
    -Music
    -AI Improvements
    -Credits
    -Recoil Improvements
    -New Attachments
    -Homing missles
    -Balance changes
    -Prototype records
    -New weapon models (note: The shotgun and pistol do not have melee animations yet, so you can now kill enemies by staring at them)
    -Changed health bar texture :)


    Controls:

    WASD: Move
    Double Tap WASD: Dodge (good for enemy missles)
    Space: Jump
    E: Interact
    RMB: Fire
    LMB: Aim
    R: Reload
    F: Melee
    T: Open Doors:



    Also, if any of you have some spare time on your hands, could you upload a video of you playing the game (Or a screen shot of the records after you die)? I'm running out of people who are unfamiliar with the game. :)

    A side note: Does anyone know how to change the name of a thread?

    This game looks really awesome, love the windows. Its a shame I cant play it on my old comp :(
    Keep it up, I also love the rifle model, the textures look fantastic too :D

    As for the performance, my friend has the same issue. That's why I made a "Brick" quality setting with literally everything turned down as low as it will go. Next stand alone. :)

    This game looks awesome, keep up the good work. I like the quality of the textures and models, and the general gameplay is pretty solid. The game played smoothly on my computer and I liked playing through it. The lighting gives the game a really nice effect. I would suggest that some of the animations need to be fixed, because occasionally they froze or stuttered. But on the whole, great job!

    Thank you. :) Would you mind posting your system specs, so I can get an idea of the hardware players have? Also, could you clarify which animations were stuttering? Did you mean the framerate?

    My system specs are:
    -Windows 8 64-bit
    -Intel Core i5-3210M processor, dual core
    -6GB system memory (RAM)
    -848MB graphics memory

    Sometimes the melee animation stuck a bit for me, and occasionally the framerate did drop too. But most of the time it ran very smoothly :)

    3D Motive + gametextures.com and some time to learn.. Watch your artwork pipeline start to grow.. I know as I'm doing it right now, AO map just finished the bake in xNormals ;p
