Schools online that teach unity

Hello. I'm looking for an online school that teaches unity, and has remote access to teachers that can help via chat.

Tutorials on the internet are great and all, but if problems arise then theres no one to help. Waiting for replys on forums can takes hours or even days.

Is the only one that I know of. I started it a while back but took a break. Its very informative and teaches alot of the ins and outs of unity and definitely helped build my scripting experience.

 

Schools that teach an engine are a bit questionable as the point of schools and study is to teach design, coding etc. Learning the engine is done through the student side by side to it and expected to be done by them, its not teaching material.

Also 'remote chat access to teachers' normally comes with the corresponding costs (several hundred USD+ per course) as having a professional sitting around a chat and wait has to be payed even if nothing happens.

If you want to learn unity you best check out the online tutorial sites that have tutorial series created especially at Unity like the one Airmand linked. But there are quite a few others out there in addition to it.

 

Hello. I've been following the walkerBoys tutorials for awhile, so I know about that. Thanks though.

Another question, is it possible for a skilled game designer to learn unity 3D in a couple weeks in order to teach a class? I'm with a local arts institute in my town, and I would like to assemble a game design course at the facility.

 

If there arnt any classes that teach unity, are there any mini sessions online, that last for one day or a week to learn a specific thing?

 

Hi Roger, I haven't found a sinlge school that can teach Unity online and support teachers via a chat/forum. I'm also trying to find the materials and lesson plans for my programming course for beginners as an extra-curricular club for high school students. Could you please share any contacts of the teachers you were working with (from your portfolio)?

 

I thought about Create with Code program, but I'm not sure I can handle it myself and prepare all the materials till the end of spring.
