Scene light intensity problem

    I have a simple scene with objects and occluders with constant light settings, the volume visual environment set as Sky: None and the camera background as colour. I am experiencing a problem where as the scenario progresses the scene is getting darker and darker to the point when all objects are just totally black. I can see that changing the camera background to the sky is fixing this but I would like to understand what is behind this
    phenomenon.
