Is there a way to open scene view and prefab mode at the same time?
This is covered by the FAQ https://forum.unity.com/threads/improved-prefabs-introduction-faq.597226/

Short answer: NOT POSSIBLE...
Can we get the ability to be able to use Prefab Mode but edit the Prefab Asset in context of the current scene instead of in isolation?
This is a common request and something that has been much on our minds. The functionality couldn’t make it for the initial release but we’d love to look into it for a future release.
This is crazy... It is almost like this whole system was built for programmers or something. What kind of artists work liek this type of weird work flow...
If you are a product owner at Unity.
PLEASE prioritise this in your backlog:
- Allow the editing of multiple prefabs simultaneously, including modifying components which are common across all.
- Allow the modification of prefabs in the context of a scene they are in.
- Allow us to view the components of a prefab and change variables without having to 'open prefab'.
In short... this is all the functionality we used to have, right?
That is not what the FAQ says!
The FAQ says it could not make it in to this release. We prototyped it and found a number of UX issues that needs to be solved but we decided to ship the current workflow so you would not have to wait even longer to get nested prefabs and the other improvements.
Do we have a release date? Do we have to wait for 2018.4? Because otherwise the short answer being you cannot is really accurate.
It's most likely not going to be added to 2018.4, because it's their LTS stream, means no new features. More likely to happen in 2019 or later.
If that is true then the new Prefab workflow is incomplete at best.
