    Sky Master ULTIMATE Standard Pipeline full volumetric clouds new feature released !!!

    Map reset system to match previous cloud state when player is moved from an arbitrary position to world space zero for map reset purposes.

    A new demo scene showcasing the effect has also been added to the system.

    Point light volumes with zero noise and no extra image effects WIP.

    The next version of the system will have a completly noise free point light volumetric lighting option, at first will be for scenes with only point lights and directional combination and in next updates will try apply the same to point lights volumes as well.

    The system has now a method to discriminate the spot and point lights in the scene inside the volume sampling shader, thus a new optimization will come in next version, where each type is handled in the most optimal way.

    There will be a choice of covering the point light noise through image effects as in current version, for maximum performance and a separate point and spot light volume sampling loop choice for zero point light noise that will be little more expensive, but not by much.

    These updates will come in the next version, hopefully early next week.

    The new version has the option to have zero noise, with increased sampling steps number and lower sampling step length, plus complete control over the sampling (noise to no noise ratio and sampling step in both regions). The video showcases zero noise point and spot lights working together without any extra image effect used and also how the volumes look with minimal image effects turned on optionally.

    New Sky Master UTIMATE HDRP Beta version is coming soon (v10), new demo with Oceanis cutting edge HDRP water and reflections of clouds on water. Also automatic handling of transition between after and before transparency rendering for the clouds, so can appear above water when player is above clouds and behind transparent items like weather particles when the player is below clouds.

    The system is made such that the volumetric clouds, water and weather effects all work seamlessly together, removing all the great complexity and headache of combing all those independent and complex systems.

    New module for the Full volumetric HDRP and URP clouds with fly through, that will control the time of day coloration, weather effects and cloud quality and weather map transitions at run time.

    The module will be included in the next HDRP and URP Beta versions.

    From my tests was enabled only when using Vulkan, because of the higher end requirements.

    A note on a Sky Master ULTIMATE URP - Ethereal Volumetric Lighting issue

    If the Camera has both rotation and X,Y,Z coordinates at zero, the screen may go black, to fix add a tiny displacement in Z axis of camera (0.0001 will do). A fix will come in next versions after identify the issue.

    UPDATE:

    It has just come to my attention that Sky Master ULTIMATE URP Volume lighting system Ethereal may have an issue when loaded in Unity 2021.1.6f1 because of a Unity bug, there is a few errors related to the extra modules for Temporal AA and Motion blur, this is trivial to solve and a patch is now available for anyone that may get this issue.

    I want to create an educational experience for our students about clouds types through VR by using your asset [ Sky Master Ultimate / Volumetric Skies & Weather ]. I had a look at some of your tutorials, and I really like the work you have done!
    I have a question on how can I achieve my goal through your asset:
    I Is there a default list of cloud type in the asset?
    I guess my main Question will be is there a default list of cloud type in the asset such as: Altocumulus.Altostratus.Cirrocumulus.Cirrostratus.Cirrus.Cumulonimbus.Cumulus.Nimbostratus.?

    Hi,

    There is no cloud types per se, but the system has 5 cloud modules covering different things, so is one of the most versatile to get various clouds formations.

    I attach a few images of the possibilities above. Note that the latest full volumetric system (first 8 images and 3 last ones) is not tested for VR, so cant say if will work, also all the other modules have been tested in multi pass, so single pass also not sure to work.

    I'm Using URP; I have been trying to find one solid clear tutorial to understand how I can build different types of clouds from the ground. I have checked many tutorials on your youtube channel!

    About URP and VR, this is also something not tested as URP is so new and while shaders are made with VR directives in mind, Unity documentation is very lacking in this regard and many things just not working because URP is ever changing, so VR in multipass i mentioned above is only for Standard Pipeline unfortunately

    Generally going forward VR has become so hard to work with, given the exponential new complexity Unity brought with pipelines that will generally be a case where VR will be a separate asset, as making a full VR conversion might be 2-3x times the time needed to make the asset itself, if is at all possible to port. Unity has become extremely complex unfortunately, much more than Unreal at this point and VR is like a totally separate new platform to support now.

    Is truly unfortunate though, as older Unity was VR ready and unified desktop and mobile, this is old history now sadly. Any platform in Unity is so different that need a separate asset at this point.

    The clouds are generally just one script on camera, so setup is mainly use that script and reference the scene sun light. In URP both image effect cloud types are in same script as well.

    Particle for bubbles separated between under and over water with same shader.

    Work in progress on a shader that will separate an object or particle shading between underwater and overwater. This can have multiple uses, one of which will be to limit bubble particles below water surface.

    Ethereal URP has been tested in WebGL and the effect appears in WebGL v2.0 and a final WebGL option will be available in the next system update.
