Will baking lightmaps with Enlighten take advantage of the 16 threads on the 1800x?
Right now i have intel i7 4700(4 core/8 threads) and baking lightmaps is extremely slow and makes my pc not usable until is finished.
Importing many textures is again very slow, will it get faster with more threads?

The answer is maybe due the fact all work cannot be done in parallel. Sometimes there's these choke points like file access, ram etc. More memory and a nice fast SSD plus any i7 with highest clock speed will generally be a good choice... IMHO you're going to get faster baking by using enlighten correctly to bake, this means good island sizes/settings etc (there is a blog posting on this).

Assuming baking for realtime GI here as the progressive lightmapper is a different ball game.
