Running out of file descriptors in 5.3 but not 5.2

    It looks like something changed with asset bundles in 5.3 that is causing us to run out of file descriptors in 5.3 but the same code has no problem in 5.2. This manifests itself with very scary errors like "Unable to open archive file" for bundles and

    Could not open file /var/mobile/Containers/Bundle/Application/(GUID)/(gamename).app/Data/resources.assets for read

    (Filename: /Users/builduser/buildslave/unity/build/Runtime/File/OpenFileCache.cpp Line: 54)

    Mismatched serialization in the builtin class 'GameObject'. (Read 15 bytes but expected 119 bytes)

    I've uploaded a bug report 741099 but I haven't heard anything back. This is a heads-up for users who are reading this forum. I'm on 5.3.0 beta 5

    You are right, this issue is related to the file handles limit on iOS.
    We are aware of this issue and looking for an acceptable from performance point of view solution.
    Thanks for the repro project!
