Rookie question: how to use webcam in play mode working with an ARCore app?

Hello guys,

I've tried everything of a top of my head, but didn't seam to find the answer or solution.
I want to check some of ARCore app functionalities, but now I'm bound to building app and testing it on the phone every time. Is webcam support for ARCore disabled? Does ARCore require all of the phone's position tracking abilities to function properly, therefore it does not work in play mode? Or is there easy way to fake gyros/sensors output to test it on webcam?
