    Hi all!

Sorry for the confusing thread title... :(

n00b here! Well, I'm developing a Risk variant. The thing is that when I pick 2 countries so one is attacking and the other one defending, I want to bring like a pop-up with the dices and other "cool" stuff. I've made a demo with sprites so you can see how it works until now (See below)

My question is: Do I need UI for this or I can use other strategy to accomplish what I told before?

    Thanks in advance!

You can set up a second camera and disable it. When it's time to roll or attack, whatever action, you can have it active again and have it overlay the field or whatever your specifications.

That's a good idea... but still... what do I use? Sprites? Canvas/UI? Thank you again!

well, to get a good indication of how to set your camera modes up, layer mask, etc... Watch a good tutorial on making a Mini-Map on Youtube. You'll learn a lot about the interface and functionality of overlaying two cameras.

That's actually how I learned lol

You could use sprites, but if it's dice, you can make a cube, enlarge it, adjust the smoothness and metallic on it, and use small spheres to make the die numbers. Once you make you dice, put any scripts, have all the stuff as it's child(the spheres ) create an empty and stick your die in the empty. make a prefab and BOOM! You made 1 dice and have two or as many as you want! :)

Thanks a lot, bro. As soon as I arrive home I'll look for those mini-map tutorials!
