Rigged character to make custom animations

    Is there a ready to download character rig for max or maya to make custom animations to use in Unity?

    If anyone knows one and shares, I would appreciate that.

    you can extract the Rig from Ethan Character from Standard Asset .It is a Maya Rig Template

    So thats all it really takes to make specific animations?

    I want to make martial arts assets but no idea how to actually make the file. Sure I can animate but thats it. Are you saying I could just pull the rig and animate a few poses and that would work in unity?

    It's not a Maya scene file, it's fbx. It doesn't include rigging controls. Almost impossible to modify the pose that way. I'm looking for a scene file that includes rigging controls, ik/fk switching etc.

    Then why not easily use the Maya Human IK Tool? ;)


    In this case you can use mechanim retargeting feature (human) and mocup

    Thanks, just saw your post.

    In the meantime, if it helps to anyone else, I used the rig from Digital Tutors' Quick Start to Rigging in Maya Volume 1 course's character from the project files. It works very good.
