Ditto, I don't seem to find a reference for this anywhere.

    Any word?

    Same here!
Fresh install of Unity3, and new project.

I also can't seem to save any of my work, so that's a huge problem!!

    Anyone?

Here, too. Just upgraded this machine to 3.0, and tried to open a project from another workstation that already had 3.0. This machine is Vista 32-bit, the other is OS X. Got the above message. When I click on it, it says:
Error in file:..\..\PlatformDependent\Win\RawInput.cpp at line: 162

Do you have any human interface devices connected when launching Unity, such as a joystick, a steering wheel, pedals, etc?

Having the same issue every time I run Unity 3, on Windows 7 64 bit.

I typically use an Xbox 360 controller within Unity, and have noticed similar errors.
If the device is on when Unity starts, and turns off during the run, I get this error:
However, the original error now occurs even when I don't have the Xbox controller attached to the PC.

I have never had a game device plugged in my machine and I get this error as well. It might be related, but its clearly something else guys.

On this topic, my 30 day trial is completely useless with this error.. its a shame cause I have the funds saved to make a pro purchase, but I am a NOT, let me repeat that NOT about to buy this product if its fails to work and run and the developers are clueless!

I guess I have to wait for an update or something before getting to properly test my possible future purchase to this engine.

Same problem. Appears when a USB bluetooth key is attached to the computer. Any solution?

I had the same issue (still do in a way). I was toying around with my Wiimote using bluetooth. When I had my bluetooth on, without a connection to my remote, the error would come up. I got around it by either disabling my bluetooth or by making sure my Wiimote was connected. I think it's a bug that will be fixed. I am not sure about an XBox controller, but have you tried to disable the device before launching?

Nope, problem still remains for me even with the new 3.1 / free version. Editor is useless with this error still living.

I'm about to reformat my computer and just hope to god this will solve my issue here. If formatting my hard drive and reinstalling my OS fails, then truly this issue is not fixable and of no concern to the unity developers.

    I will keep you posted.
