I downloaded the latest patch. But disappointed to see none of the Windows 8 Store bugs have been fixed. From the list of fixed bugs it is mainly Android bugs and not a single Windows 8 UI bug fixed.

    These include:
    • Text input: can't select text with mouse.or position text cursor
    • Text input: doesn't work with touch
    • Text input: on-screen keyboard doesn't work
    • Text input: console error when press backspace key
    • Text input: caret in wrong place
    • Touch selecting UI elements underneath other ones (it's OK with mouse)
    • Slider doesn't work properly with touch
Are any of the Windows 8 bugs planned to be fixed in Unity 4.6.1? It is soooo buggy it's unbelievable.

Has Unity abandoned support for Windows 8 apps? What about people wanting to make apps for Windows 8 PCs? Can't Microsoft sponsor you to fix these bugs instead of running competitions?

Should I resubmit all these bugs to the bug report?

I don't know what to do as I invested so much time making an app with the new UI hoping it would work on Windows 8. :(

At least put a warning somewhere on your download page to say "Warning: Unity 4.6 UI doesn't work on Windows 8 so don't try making Windows 8 apps with it."

I'm also unhappy about the treatment of less popular devices such as Windows Mobile 8.1 and BlackBerry, I got a review from a customer with 1 star claiming my app crash on his phone, which I was thinking he was making up as I tested number of phones. I was surprised to see 4.6p1 Windows Phone 8.1: Fixed an issue which caused Lumia 530 to freeze and its screen go black, makes me worried this happens other devices also.

I was expecting some new features to be added for BlackBerry, wrote a separate thread on this, but no one comments in this section, oh well.

This is worry me for Unity 5 really, feature packed release and I hope by time it is out all Mobile issues be sorted and of course new mobile things added.

After building with 4.6 patch 1 the web player doesn't work anymore. It says the following no matter how many times I install the newest web player.
Unity Web Player update finished, but installed revision (4608003) is less than required revision (460a001). Please reinstall.

WHAT!!!! Chrome doesn't support web player any more?:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Since when? But that means I have two options:

    1) Roll back to use Unity 4.6.0 which works on web-player
    2) Wait for the (hopefully) bug-fixes in Unity 4.6.1 without web-player.

    THIS IS A DISASTER!!!

This might be the final straw. Does this mean I have to roll back to Unity 4.5.0. Rip out all the Unity UI stuff, so that my apps will work on web-player/Windows Store/Android/any other device. And spend a week/month writing my own UI code?

Unity has to make the webplayer work on Chrome. That is the only option. It was working on Chrome before I downloaded the patch.

Hmm.. OK, so hopefully Unity 4.6.1 will work and it's just a patch issue. This is going to give me a heart attack! I can understand now why people don't use proprietary game engines. Too much loss of control. Or at least don't try and use the very latest versions.

Web Player will not work on Chrome. It is not a bug on unity. And there is nothing unity can do to fix it. Chrome has disabled all NPAPI plugins including unity web player. They gave warning around a year ago. And now they have finally turned it off. So yeah, no more unity web player on chrome. Lets just wait for the WebGL on unity 5

    And as for my problem
This is not related to chrome. All the browser is showing the same problem. No browser is being able to run the web build of unity 4.6 patch 1

What are you talking about? Unity player still works in Chrome. See? All old Unity games on the web are still working. It's just the new patch that won't publish to webplayer.

i'm guessing here as webplayer isn't my thing but i'm guessing its just a bug with p1. I've pinged people about it but its really late for the people who'd know (1030 on a friday night). Hopefully we can get this resolved quickly.

Chill bro. Webplayer still works on Chrome. If you haven't noticed they simply block the plugin when it tries to run. You can notice that on the right hand side of the address bar.

    For now
    , Chrome supports Web Player.
