After doing the rogue-like tutorial I've started making a simple practice 2D game. I'm repeating the procedures there to create sprite-based characters and their animations, but I can't figure out how to re-use certain sprites for the animations themselves (in the .anim resources.) For example I'd like the walking sprites to cycle in a specific order so I don't have to create extra images. What do?

Thanks, but not quite. I've created animations by dragging the sprites I want used into an empty Game Object (an .anim is then generated.) I'd like to know how to edit it specifically, so I can, say, have certain sprites be repeated in a walking animation.

If you open up the Animation Windows and have the game object (with the animation) selected, you should be able to see the sprites animation in the Animation Windows. From there, you can add/edit the sprite to use for that particular animation.
