Hi, We are observing a problem that happens in our projects when we upgrade Unity editor. Basically, we publish the same code, same game, only difference is Unity version, then the retention drops by 2 or 3 points (minimun) sometimes even more than 5 points.
Our (mobile) projects are currently running on Unity 2019.2 (originally Unity 5), we have tried 2019.4 and 2020.3, both of them with terrible results.
    We have some plugins like:
-Admob (removed and reimported each time we upgrade)
-Firebase (removed and reimported each time we upgrade)
-Game Analytics (removed and reimported each time we upgrade)
    -Dotween
    -Doozy UI

Any idea how to solve this? We would love to upgrade to a LTS version and downgrading to 2018.4 is not a solution.

personal opinion but I think these publisher platforms don't like you using third party ad providers and they will do all sorts of tricks to penalize your content.

my opinion, no evidence to back this off.

Upgrade? Someone's 'avin' a laugh up there in Unity.
Read the posts about these "upgrades". Is anyone at all happy with them? Very few unfortunately.
But if they must be used then swat up all the info. and start your project from new. Don't try and import it to the "upgrade" versions unless you have a few months of free time and lots of fingernails that aren't required.....And the very best of luck!!!!
