I have decided to develop part of a game with the help of the crowd.

Pozible is a crowd funding website, very similar to kickstarter, Unity3d is the engine that runs the actual game.

It should be live in about 10 hours or so.

The game has an "arcade roots feel" with special effects from unity.

    shadows are def. a requirement.
and some camera distortion shaders to flesh out the depth of the game field.

A secret developers play of one sandbox level can be found below.

I should make it easier to view the image content.

    some in game editor shots

Most of the games assets are primitive blocks grouped to form cast members

Neat little game but the camera tracking could really use some work.

    Hi Justin,

A lot of things need work to complete this prototype.

Do you mean the distance to the edge of screen when flying full tilt ?

I really enjoyed it...has a very chaotic war effect going on. I was dying to find some enemies to shoot and avoid their weapons.

It appears the funding has started. If you want to get involved, click the pozible link at the top.
I think I have 3 crowd funders from last check.
