    Good Day

in the Standard Assets of Unity 5 , i see there is a First Person Controller which is a Model with no avator and there is another one which is a 3rd Person Controller with an Avator.

    1) What is the Difference between the two ?
    2) if i want to use my own character , can i it without using having the first person Character in the scene ?

    Thanks

    Alright, good point.

    Question 1)

The difference between these two is where the camera is. In FPS(First Person) the camera is in the head, thats why there is no need for a model because it does not render the actual player(However you can place your own model there).

Thire Person is another story. IN third person controller the camera is not placed in the head, thats why you see your player and thats why you NEED a model.

    Question 2)
I dont really understand what you mean, but you can use your own model for both, FPS and third person. :)

    Thank for the Reply.

i see the 3rd Person Controller don't have a Camera. Lets say i want t see the Character run and also i want to see him turn and all other stuff. In the Hierarchy can i add any Animated Model or Third Person Controller to the First Person Controller and move it a little bit forward and control it(My Animated Model or 3rd Person Controller) from the First Person Controller ?

You confused me a bit. :) If you want to see your character do all that stuff, you need a third person camera(not in your models head). You cant add third person to first person :)
You can control a model in third person or first person, even both(change the view with script, like modern games). Its just the matter where you put the camera. :) Hope I helped

Sorry for the Confusion. ok what i did now is to remove the FPC and use the Third person controller , added a camera to his head and move him forward so that i can see him running. it looks nice and promising.

    Thanks again

If you start your own thread you might get more attention to your problem - if you haven't already solved.

yea i would like to know how to add obstacles in my game basically i am creating a temple run like game but in my game there is a little bit difference i added two players so they can run/race with each other and use their special powers against each other and i also split the screen so both players can be seen to user. okay now i would like two known how to setup controls for my character so they can move forward, left, right and also how they use their special power(like throw fire ball so life of other player became low). reply me as quickly as possible or you guys can me email me on my email address k122466@nu.edu.pk
