Hi everyone. I was wondering how to reset the camera in scene view because I can't seem to find any of my objects.

Also... how do you make it so the player camera doesn't fall through the floor? I put physics on the object but it still falls through. I'm using the default FPS script that comes with the standard package.

    Thanks.

You can always select an item of interest, then put your cursor over the scene view and press "F" to center that object in view.

You need a floor/surface with a collider (no collider = fall right through), if you're using your own floor/surface/room geometry you can have colliders generated in the inspector if you'd like.

This the second or third time I've had to dig up this decade old thread to remember how to do this (I'm still relatively new to Unity, ~2 years though.)
Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't seem like the discoverability to this has improved at all? I'm sure some people have been using Unity 5+ years and still don't know this key shortcut exists or have it memorized. It also requires that you already have an object placed at or near origin.

I naturally expected to find a "Reset" button here in the Scene Camera Settings (along with current transformation / rotation) which seems to be the only place that resemble an "Inspector" for the Scene Camera:

You can also double click on objects in the hierarchy instead of pressing F.

@PraetorBlue thank you! Double clicking the object is very handy and preferable to the F shortcut in many cases. Though I will maintain I'd still like to see this exposed in the UI somewhere from a UI/UX usability/discoverability standpoint.

you could also delete the scene tab and open a new scene tab. just had this happen to me. it was quite annoying as none of the fixes here helped xD

I was struggling with this and think I may have found a near solution if not an actual one. Like others have suggested, focus or frame the object you want to view (Double click in hierarchy or hover the scene and press F). Then, in the top right of the scene view, where the little perspective cube and six cones are displayed, click on the red "X axis" cone. If it's not visible, click on one of the other colored cones and it should become visible and then you can click it.

I agree. When hovering over the floating "Tools" window in the scene view, none of the shortcuts are exposed (they are Q W E R T Y), and there is no icon for the Center action at all, let alone a shortcut key hint.
