Hi, I reported this bug quite a long time ago now and it is marked as "fixed in a future release". There have been numerous updates and patch releases since it was marked as such and I was wondering if there if any Unity staff have any information about when this might make it's way into a released build.

I get a lot of users of my product asking about this error, and I have no way of fixing it myself.

Looks like it was fixed in 5.4. Its possible that it just has not been backported to 5.3. I'll look into it.

Just wanted to add that my team is also having this issue in the latest release as well(5.3.1). It happens when resizing RectTransforms during a drag/drop. This issue did not exist in 5.2 for us. Finding out if/when this will be fixed will be super helpful as we were trying to figure out this bug before we release our next version of our app.

This does not look to be fixed as of 5.4.0b1, for the record.

Indeed, I just tested this and it is not fixed in 5.4.0b1.

My only recourse currently to get around this bug is to attempt a version downgrade, as none of the workarounds insofar as how this bug is repro'd have proven successful. This issue needs a fix ASAP.

I have setup a small repro project of the error we are getting using a nested layout and I have submitted the bug: (Case 761738) Layout rebuild while we are already inside layout rebuild loop

Hey. This fix has not yet made it into our mainline, its part of a bunch of UI fixes that are currently going through our internal code review process. Once it lands it will go straight into the next available patch release.

Ah, good to hear. I was just afraid that it would be forgotten about and not make it into any upcoming releases. Thanks for the update!

Thank you for the reply. Do we have any rough idea which patch these might be in? Our latest deployment is currently on hold because of this bug.

Not at the moment. I can say it wont be in next weeks as the cut off is Monday and its still not in. Ask again in a week and i can let you know if its going to be in the week after. I am on stand by waiting to grab the fix as soon as its approved so fingers crossed they get through the code review soon.

Hi Karl, do you think the fixes will get in the patch release for next week? (week of 2/24/2016)

Does this mean we will not be able to build to webplayer and have this fix in it? I was under the impression that patches were not supported in the webplayer, but I'm hoping I'm wrong since we still have customers who cant run WebGL yet.

I don't know the details regarding the web player but if you need an official release then it will be in 5.3.3 in about 4 weeks.
