    Hi All,

    I have wasted too much time in thinking about whether to write this or not, well here goes...

    I am in a tough situation, needing a good amount of money for something very very important.

    About $5000-$7000 needed in the next few months, i can give exact details in a pm if anyone wants to knwo more.

    I have been thinking about creating and selling mobile games [mainly ios and android] for a long time.

    Just couldn't do it due to other commitments which includes a day job and an online project that despite much effort, has failed to bring any revenue.

    Last year me and a friend planned to collaborate, got a few starter kits as unity packages, but he had to leave the country and I was stuck as usual.

    Being in a third world country like Pakistan where I hardly manage to save 5 to 6 thousand rupees monthly [$50-60], i can only think of getting that amount of money in such little time via this.

    I have a few ideas regarding the game want to create.

    I started doing research a few days ago eversince it became clear to me that the online project will fail and I don't have much time to delay the thing i need money for.

    I had requested my employer for 12 days off in december, but they could only give me 7 although I had 15 of my leaves left.

    I have read that in december mobile games have more downloads due to holidays in most western countries.

    I can work on game design, gfx and marketing, but I desperatly need help in coding.

    We can use the free unity basic, i can only invest in a google play developer account [$25] but currently can't buy an apple one [$100]

    Now from your experience can this be achieved?

    Is there anyone who can help me in this situation? I know this seems dubious but we can talk on skype to further explain and can provide evidence too.

    Consider this as a kickstarter for getting help instead of funding.

    I Will definately credit your work, am willing to even do work in exchange of yours.

    Will really appreciate your timely response.

    Thanks.

    if you mean making and releasing a game during December of this year then the answer is no. That's going to be impossible. Even if you had a game ready now the approval process will take a while, at least for the Apple app store.

    If you mean making up to US$5000 in the upcoming few months with virtually no money to invest and no existing experience in making or selling games, then I would say that that is going to be very difficult. You should think of a plan B.

    I understand that you don't have money to pay for a programmer, but you're not even offering to share the profits, if any. I think you would be better off just asking for monetary donations.

    Perhaps you would get more traction if you can show off some of the skills that you're willing to trade.

    You do not need a coder for a reskin. You just switch out grfx.

    If you want fast money you're looking at the wrong business.

    No, it's far too late plus apple close at xmas. You should have submitted an app at least 2 weeks ago to stand a chance of being out before tomorrow.

    In any case, your app would not get a single extra download in this period. The app store is incredibly cut throat and your app would vanish from sight, never to be seen again. TLDR - it's not a market for the faint hearted.

    If you're going to do this right, then slow down, and do it right. Do your research.

    if you need fast money, you either need to look into loans, day trading, or crime. Very few things have the potential to get vast amounts of capital in a short time, without a LOT of preliminary work and talent.

    Yes I was hoping to get it released in these few days, but certainly not dreaming for getting that much amount that quickly.

    Call me naive, but i was thinking that maybe releasing it during xmas time might give it some traction which will make it easier to market and monetize in the future months, guess that can't be done.

    True I have no experience in making and selling games, but i have done seo and marketing for windows software. What type of work would you require in these domains? I can do some work for free as a sample.

    Yes we can look into profit sharing too, but how to manage that?

    @ippdev
    That is an option but what I have researched the returns are very small, how has your experience been with just replacing gfx/themes?

    @randomperson42
    I don't consider it that fast, i mean i need $5k-7k over a period of next few months, not immediately.

    @hippocoder
    I understand and respect your honest and good advice, thanks.

    @Nanako
    Understand your opinion too, thanks.

    No need to turn to crime. Sell some of your body parts.

    I won't reskin others games. I will reuse assets i created and make new grfx. I don't ever do profit sharing. There is nothing in it for me up front and i can make alot more freelancing at 35 an hour.

    There's good business in cloning simple successful titles if you can do it right with the right presentation. I would recommend this behaviour for people in a hard situation who struggle to make ends meet.

    Obviously I don't mean steal code or anything, but make your own clones, perhaps ad revenue.

    Well I tend to be more forgiving to people in pakistan or similar countries - living conditions are tougher and smaller amounts of cash are really beneficial to them. I mean you heard the op - saving 60 a month? That's tough.

    The problem there is that everyone is doing the same. It is like only buying lottery tickets only when the prize is huge.

    December is a huge release time, not only for new games, but for large updates to existing games. And that is also when most larger developers spend a lot of on marketing and advertising. It's the time of year when device sales are really high, and when the most new mobile/device users come the market.

    Unless you are a major developer, and have a well known brand/IP and have a millions in your budget for marketing, it is really the worst time to release a new game. It will lost faster in the stores than any other time of year.

    That's most of what's out there. With a little free-to-play app that is ad supported, a guy I went to high school with made ~$20,000. It took a couple years to get that much and nobody could live on what he was getting per quarter, but even $30/mo. is a lot of money if $60.00 is important to you.

    Thanks, but what i meant was to show examples where people of this community or 1-2 ppl setups have made successful clones. I know 'successful' is relative, but made atleast decent amount of cash.

    Your friend made that much from just 1 game? was it a clone or an original one? Can you reveal it's name here?

    Thanks.

    One of our 5 day games (took 5 days to develop) made 20k. I'm not interested in holding your hand, but if you start making stuff, the money will start coming. Do a 1 week game. Put it on google play with ads. Then do more.

    If you can't make $25 (google play fee) with a single game via ad revenue you're either a) stupid or b) talentless. It's harsh words but that's the truth.
