I can't seem to figure out where I would report an ad I think is inappropriate.

Basically the ad/game I would like to complain about has shown up in two different games I play, and I know the games use unity ads. The game is zGirls and the ad involves a large breasted anime girl with a grabby hand over her chest. She says "No" and the hand grabs her anyhow, she blushes and says "oh!"

I have issues with the game in general, but it is my choice not to play it. It is not my choice however to keep seeing a woman's consent to be touched violated and normalized repeatedly. Teens play these games, normalizing that kind of behavior is NOT ok.

Would be nice if there was a form for this. I just saw an ad for a game called "Legend of Pirates" where the gameplay shown was ripped straight from Sid Meier's Pirates (the newest one)

I found one as well called "War of Colony" that consists solely of ripped gameplay footage of "Empire Total War".

Is there any update for this? How do you report an advertisement? I started off being ticked off by the companies creating offensive and/or false advertisements, but now I'm finding myself being more irritated with Unity for not providing a way to report these types of ads.

    Hi,

Thank you everyone for voicing their concerns about advertisement content quality. If you feel like you urgently want to report an advertisement that you consider might be infringing on some other IP or that might be otherwise inappropriate - please contact unityads-support@unity3d.com or send a ticket through the dashboard.

Make sure to provide these details:
    - Your game ID (if applicable)
    - Advertised game or campaign
    - Screenshot (if possible - remember to grab some when it's playing)
    - Time when this happened

These will help us pinpoint whether it's one of our ads and which campaign. Then we can moderate if necessary.

    Thank you in advance!

I have a major issue with a ad shown through your system. "First Love Kiss-Cupid's Romance Mission" shows cartoon teenage boys passionately kissing! This is beyond disgusting! When my young son comes to me and says "Dad, why are these boys kissing..." There is an issue. I don't care if people want to be gay, but when this type of behavior is advertised to children we have a major issue.... This borders on pedophilia seriously... If an alcohol or tobacco company was using cartoon games to entice children to use their products we'd loose our minds and we should. I would like this ad removed, this ad is morally defunct to say the least...

    Is this a Unity Ad?

If this reoccurs - can you select the hand+shield privacy icon from the ad end card and then -> show build information -> take a screenshot and send it to unityads-support@unity3d.com and we'll take a closer look at the ad content.

this ad played during a kids game and should be removed from unity

Hi, thanks for reporting. In case you still see the ad, you should be able to use the "Report ad" button on the endcard. Did you see if the endcard said Unity Ads?

Hi there, i have issue with an ad of a game called "Rich and Famous" (Indonesian region), in which it depicts sensual content, and i have already reported it using the "report ad" button. The problem is, nothing seems to happen. I keep seeing the same ad every now and then. Every time the ad showed up, i always reported it, and it has going for like not less than 10 reports. Please do something. Many thanks

It would be great to get a system similar to what AdMob has: Where the dev can see all ads that have been shown in his apps recently so that you can filter them out manually and don't have to rely on users complaining about them.

I don't see how I can access that menu. My 4 year old daughter has just been subjected to an advert in which a big cat is engulfed by fire.

When I click on the privacy settings, I'm able toggle whether I want a personalised experience. But there are no options to report as inappropriate. IMG_20200710_080010121.jpg IMG_20200710_080106491.jpg IMG_20200710_080010121.jpg IMG_20200710_080106491.jpg

    Hello,

I have to seriously ask: do you have any review process on the ads being published on your platform? My kids (4 y.o. and 6 y.o.) keep seeing extremely inappropriate ads about online g ambling (which is legally prohibited in our country) which leads them to a seemingly benign app, pretending as something like "background remover" with 3+ rating — but in fact being a client for online casino.

This is beyond inappropriate, this can lead to me paying huge fines or, in worst case, serving actual time in jail. And it's not a single occasion — there are literally dozens of these ads/apps, and my kids keep seeing them every day.

What is going on, seriously? Can Unity Ads be trusted altogether? Or should I just delete the game immediately after I see the "Made with Unity" splash screen?

P.S. I would _really_ appreciate a reply, as I'm so frustrated that I'm starting to compose together a blog post — I'm even willing to spend money on the campaign because this issue is simply beyond infuriating.

Does this happen even though you check the box "This app is directed to children under the age of 13." ?

Thanks, my answer will be multi-faceted:

    1. My above complain was not about the games I have published myself. My kids keep seeing this in ads from other developers as well.
    2. For the games I have published: I indeed have "This app is directed to children under the age of 13." in the project info in Unity. However, I had to remove the age categories below 13 from the Google Play Store's Target Audience — because they can remove my app from the store if it serves in appropriate ads (which it absolutely surely does!). I also tried "Do not show ads rated 13+" — but the issue is still persistent.
    3. But most importantly, the ads served are simply illegal — even for <17 y.o. (well, strictly speaking, online gambbling is illegal for everyone in my country), so I think these ads shouldn't show at all. I believe they also violate other policies, e.g. pretending to be benign games whilst in fact they are just thin clients for some online money fraud businesses.

Hi @BorisOkunskiy You can exclude certain categories from showing up in your game by Unity dashboard. I don't know if this feature was existing when he created this thread.

My game is set for 7+ people on Google play store so i have concerns about if they would show 13+ ads even though i removed the specified categories in the image.

I adivce you to go check the dictionary. If you're lazy to check dictionary or afraid to face who's uneducated, just read the words that i quote from the dictionary below. ;)

    https://dictionary.cambridge.org/
    Person:
"We use person in the singular to refer to any human being."

    People:
"To refer to groups of human beings or humans in general, we use people."

(Note: Children are human beings too.)

This conversation has digressed a bit. I'm not making a game for a target audience of < 7 y.o. However, I explicitly state that my game doesn't contain violence, nudity, coarse language, and anything like that — so I do have "This app is directed to children under the age of 13." enabled to make it more inclusive; furthermore I restrict the ads to "Do not show ads rated 13+". And of course I have inappropriate ad categories filtered out.

The issue is: none of these work. It's just as if Unity has no ads review whatsoever, at least not in my particular locale (where not only the only gambling apps are masquerading themselves as arcades or match 3s — but also the video shows plain offensive language, like the dude saying an equivalent of f*ck in my lang).

The ads that I see are not 18+ either. They are misleading, trying to "cheat the system" by pretending to be something else, and Unity doesn't care, like at all.

I've raised the support ticket, too. It's a bit insane that they ask me for details, given that I can't really test the ads I'm seeing on my own devices as per T&Cs.

I literally don't know what to do. I'm guessing, making money of ads just doesn't work for me.

I have literally the same problem! Nothing but gambling ads, filters aren't working, support person pretends that everything is okay ("I went through all the ads served in your app for the last 30 days and didn't see any that shouldn't have been served based on your filters. I noticed one ad for Money Safe Win that looks like it might be a gambling ad, but in actuality is a financial management app that is rated E for everyone.") Yeah, financial management app with the name "Money Safe Win", seems legit... I think they don't have a review team for our region (eastern Europe) at all and that's the problem. So, I as a developer simply can't use Unity Ads in my application.

If any more proof was needed that Unity do not review the ads published through their platform, or take user reports seriously, for the past three days I have been forced to watch an advertisement featuring real-life footage of animals being shot through an animated scope. As if that was not disgusting and distressing enough in itself, two of the three animals featured in this advertisement were not killed instantly, and are shown suffering in the aftermath.

What kind of unethical, repulsive company allows such a thing? And for what - a few measly dollars from a dodgy foreign publisher peddling cheap, clickbait shooter games?

You should be utterly ashamed of yourselves, Unity.

I again have user reports of banner ads that look normally but when you click them you get taken to porn sites. As the users don't click on the ads by intent but by accident they can't remember which ad it was though. But it wouldn't help anyway as there is STILL no way for the devs to scan the shown ads and filter them manually.

It can't be that hard to create a page which displays all shown ads, filtered by app, placement id, time and even click url. That is one SQL query... That should be faster to be implemented than this message took to write.

EDIT: Android and iOS users both.

I am very concerned about a highly inappropriate advert for ‘Solitaire Home Design - Fun Game’ which you produced. The advert begins by showing a pregnant woman being slapped to the ground by her husband, followed by her being surrounded by a pool of liquid. This normalisation of domestic violence is gross and triggering for many women who have experienced such.

The game itself has a rating of 4+, so why this would be an appropriate advertisement for this I do not know.
