Replicate "Build" from the "Build Settings" window? (not Build And Run)

So there's Ctrl+B or File -> Build & Run from the menu.

What's the preferred method for replicating just 'Build's functionality?

Leaving the "Build Settings" window open is getting a little tiresome, especially since:

A: it's unnecessary busywork and gets in the way
B: as I've just discovered, on OSX, it randomly re-focuses itsself, popping up over other stuff you're trying to work on.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I'm sure you'll appreciate how difficult it is to search for this exact thing on google without the magic keyword.
