    Hi Everyone !

So I have this stand that I modelled in 3DS Max to use for a Demo Room and I want to be able to display an image or a text on the square part without having to create a new texture each time.

    Capture.JPG

I was wondering what is the "good" way to do that. My first approach was to put a Canevas on it set in World Coordinates and then add a text/image area that I could motify for what I want to present, but if I have, let's say 10 objets of such sort on my map, I would create 10 canevas and I find it a little expensive. An other concern of mine is that the Canevas is a little impraticable for this kind of object.

I would like to have your input on the question :)

    Thanks !

    Have you tried 3d text?

Thanks I didn't thought of 3D Text :), just tried it and it seems to work nicely, only problem it is rendered on top of everything. I'm not used to use it so maybe it's just a setting problem on my side... Other problem now is if I want to put an image on the square.

Thanks for the input :) I finally done something that seems easy enough to use for me :

    Capture.JPG

I put a Quad in front of the display and put a texture as the image, and for the text I used a 3DText with the shader you mentioned and it works alright :)

    Cheers.
