    Hello,
I am using HDRP/LIT as my shader, and am using a render texture, but notice that (outside the rectangular boundaries of the camera's render), the remainder of the texture renders as black

If there is no way to make what doesn't get rendered come up as transparent instead of black, then is there a way to create a 'HDRP/LIT2' shader that doesn't render black?

    Thank you,
    Michael S. Lowe

We will need a lot more informations here.
How do you use the HDRP/Lit shader ? To render in the RT through the camera ? To display the RT on an object ?
Did you select a RT format with alpha channel for transparency ?
Did you set your camera to render with an uniform color background, and the alpha of the color is 0 ?
Maybe post some screenshots of the rendering and setup ?
