Renaming Duplicate Meshes in Unity

    We're importing two project together via a package. Each project has an asset store item inside of it, for example Daylight water. What we're noticing is that when we import the package one replaces the other, no matter what we do . We can rename every single item in the project, but if the prefab uses a mesh the conflict will erase one.

    In short, duplicate mesh names are bad.

    But here is our problem: we can't rename the mesh! Not in the explorer. Not in Unity. Not in Blender. All we want to do is edit the mesh name, ideally inside of Unity, to something unique. Any ideas?

    Mesh names should be editable in blender.
    But it should be easier to just not import the duplicate content
