I'm currently working with some assets that came with attached shaders/materials. When I inspect the mesh I can see the shader and can select a new shader, but only from the pre-existing list. I can drag another material over into the inspector and it will show up under the original, but I can't find any way to delete the original from the mesh. (There is no option to delete under the gear options, only reset which just leaves me with the same problem: picking a shader from the list and not a new one I've created in Shader Forge.)

I've also tried the option to convert the original shader to Shader Forge, but although it comes up inside Shader Forge it can't be edited and basically locks the program up.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

Under Mesh Renderer, there's a Materials drop-down, which has a list of all of the materials on the mesh. You can select a new one from there?
