I need to make builds that have dev tools enabled but our publisher needs to make video captures without the dev build watermark. Having to maintain 2 set of builds just for that is stupid. We need to have the possibility to do this by script so we can add a command to hide it for them.

It has been 3 years since this thread was created, and there has been no progress on this matter.
I can't imagine that this feature is too difficult to implement.
It might be that we simply don't have enough voices supporting it.

Use AssetBundleExtractor, and replace texture in "unity default resources" package

I created a package that automatically removes the "Development Build" label at build time.
But, it could only support three platforms: Windows, macOS, and iOS.
I hope this feature will be officially supported by Unity.

    Thanks :)
Will there be Android platform support as well?

Especially galling that this isn't an option for those with WebGL projects. Unity's webgl build pipeline is frequently broken and the *only* build type we can generate right now is a development build.

For anyone else dealing with this.

I was unsure how to modify the WebGL build pipeline so I just modified the "unity default resources" file located at

    `~/Unity/Hub/Editor/2022.3.7f1/Editor/Data/PlaybackEngines/WebGLSupport/BuildTools/data`

I searched for the string "UnityWatermark-dev" in a hex editor and then zeroed out the width field with value 117 at offset+28 and height field with value 17 at offset +32 from the beginning of the string. Viola, no more watermark in my build, and I have something I can ship.

Huge thanks to @kyubuns for the inspiration.

I you create a app package in VS (sideloading) you can select "Master" instead of Release or Debug.
In Unity use "Release" and in VS use "Master"
It only works if you make a completly new build! Delete all old Files and Folders!

I have no dev build watermark this way.
