    Job Description

    You will use Unity Particle System and shaders to create a variety of different effects to make the world of Illuvium Zero come to life. In this role, you should be an analytical and creative designer who is able to understand how to visually stunning effects efficiently and in a timely manner.

    Ultimately, you will make our game stand out from the crowd with attractive effects that draw in a large and diverse player base.

    Illuvium Labs is an independent game development studio based in Sydney, Australia. We develop blockchain based games for the Illuvium DAO. We have developed a strong culture of independence with our team, preferring candidates who can articulate their own vision and goals. We operate almost entirely remotely so each team member designs their own hours and work schedule. In the end all that matters is the delivered product. We hire based on people’s abilities to adapt and change quickly, valuing underlying core abilities above specific skill sets.


    Responsibilities
    • Create next level visual effects using Unity particle system with a strong sci-fi element.

    • Debug and profile all VFX systems for performance optimization

    • Utilise particle systems and shaders to create efficient effects that run well on a range of mobile devices

    • Collaborate with a large team of artists and game designers across numerous disciplines to create a coherent final product.
    Skills and Qualifications
    • At least 3 Years experience creating particle systems for video games

    • Extensive experience with the Unity Particle System

    • Experience creating parametised effects which allow designers to change effects parameters based on game state
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience creating VFX for mobile games

    • 5 Years experience in the games industry

    • Ability to develop custom Unity shaders either directly in code or with Shaderlab
