    I tried the demo, looks good. But when I press the scroll, I assume that is for Quests, perhaps to hide/show the quest objectives, nothing happened?

    Yes lol I know.

    This is a button which will display all the current quest in your Quest Book and you will be able to select these you want to be shown in the Quest Helper to the right.

    Currently, this feature isn't coded at this moment.

    It will be in the next patch, but it won't take that long as the latest patch :)

    Also here is the list of bug :
    - Completed in Quest Helper is shown above other quests
    - Day/Light need to be optimized again

    All right,

    I've fixed all the above trouble.
    Daytime has been improved GREATLY, so now everything is smooth in game.

    It will be available in the version 2.01 in about 2-3 days.

    What would you like in the next version?

    I've got lot of work with the current version but I'm always thinking in advance for what my users wants.

    Here is some ideas
    - Save/Loads game
    - Mini Maps (Green circle = Friendly, Red circle = Hostile, Yellow circle = Neutral (can be attacked by player but won't charge you)
    - Moveable Object + Switch which will open door IF there is something on it.
    - Advanced Dialog System (with Cut Scene, people speaking with bubble or with new ones)
    - Adding Weapons on characters Sheath / In Hand (for Aggressive one)

    V2.02 has been sent to the store.

    - I added Chest into the game. You can choose which item can be given with a % of it.


    williamian : I'll keep this for a update where I plan to include this with another battle type such as a Hack n' slash type of battle instead of Turn Based Combat. (Just like Zelda style).

    Next week, I'll release and improved version of the UI (inventory, quest, quest helper)
    AND...

    Shops for NPC.
    You will be able to Sell/Buy items from NPC with a new interface.
    Some item needs a different currency. It's almost finished

    Version 2.04 is now LIVE.

    I fixed some minor bugs in the last version.
    In the meanwhile, I changed the package name for Ultimate Rpg Engine which reveal better what's in the package.

    This Asset is about to be the greatest Rpg Kit ever so you can start with a pretty good structure and make your very own RPG.

    There is lot of work to come soon.

    Would be awesome to implement a splash screen and menu with save and load, with a New Game where it takes you to the character creation screen and than it goes to the game.

    Btw getting errors with the highlighting of NPC's

    for the error : create Layer Outline.

    I will keep that in mind for the character creation screen before.
    I was thinking about the save/load and save slots too :)

    it is possible to add a AKS the turn battle is boring when this have a action fight system like secret of mana or evermore or terranigma it`s a 100% buy

    Ok... here it is. This will be my next task to include a battle system as Secret of Mana or Zelda.

    I begun to change the character structure for the hand animation so he can now swing with a weapon in his hand.
    I'm also currently adding weapons + changing AI so they too attack the player when nearby.
    When killing enemy, it also need to give XP, Loot on ground.

    I'm still trying to achieve this in November.

    When I get a little demo to show you, I'll post it there! Or Screenshots.

    Phase 1 is still in construction. I think 2x more week and it will be done.
    I had to rethink about the character structure and optimize it better for the animation.

    Also, it will look amazing!


    The player need to Attack or just click on X so the character go and grab his weapon on his back.
    Also, adding new weapons, shield will be easy. Just need 2x PNG (Front or Side). The system will handle the rest.

    Currently, when the player equip a sword, the sword appear in his hand!

    You can configure a character to have a default look (armor, hair, eyes, even cloth and armors) even when you don't have anything equipped. On the item, you can specify which part you want to show so when you equip or remove the gear from the character, it will show the right info.

    He can swing in the air, have 2x sword (one on each hand) and attack together.
    I want to add Shield in hand so you can block with it. I may delay the shield so I can release phase 1 quickly because I want to do the Quest System to work with this new kind of gameplay.

    Currently, I have a skeleton as a enemy character or bandits (humanoid).
    How about adding a new character like a Slime? I'll think about it so you can see multiple kind of enemy which aren't all 2 handed enemies.

    I will try to update every week a update for the next release!
    It is going very well and fast!

    I am currently adding a Zelda like combat system on this package. You will be able to choose between (Zelda style OR Rpg style) for the battle. RPG will still be in 2 section which is Real Time and Turn Based.

    Both battle system will be usable in the same demo. So you will be able to switch in-game so test them out.
    Also, at the end of this week, I will release a demo showing the result!

    New Battle System
    Phase 1 :

    - Change Character Structure for hands so we can now have weapon in hand (both of them), Melee attack. (DONE)
    - Gain XP + Loot in the world (before it was in the battle scene). (DONE)
    - Equip weapons, Gear will change your current hero appearance. Also, having better weapon will do more damage in the new system. (DONE)
    - Have a option in the GameManager to Hold your shield to prevent attack or reduce dmg taken. If not, the shield will only add stats to the player. You have the option. (0%)
    - Melee AI (DONE)
    - Adapt the Quest System to work with this new system (0%)

    Phase 2 :
    - Add Ranged Weapons such has Bow (0%)
    - Arrow will move in the world and stop on Walls, Enemy doing damage. When using shield, it will just stop and go on the ground. (0%)
    - AI Ranged. (0%)

    Phase 3 :
    - Add Spells (instants, Dots (Damage Over Time), Channeling, AoE option) (0%)
    - AI Caster. (0%)

    Phase 4 :
    - Advanced Spell such has (Freeze, Knockback, Swallow (bring enemy in center of impact.), Healing....) (0%)

    I will release a playable demo before the end of the week where you can test out the new battle system with random enemy on the map (Melee AI).

    I need to focus on Quest so when you kill enemy, you increase your counter correctly.
    All the other just work fine (Get Item, Talk To NPC).

    I also changed the whole structure of the package in the Hierarchy Window, it will be VERY VERY easy after this to create tiles, create new characters, items, but it will take sometimes...

    So I was wondering if I release a working version OR I still work to polish the interface so you can work with the pacakge more easily (creating quests, items, light... ) I will think about it.

    Don't pay attention to the Item he receive in his inventory, also there are minors bugs currently.

    I have tried the demo, i know there a lot of bugs but that system is not mine. It´s similar to zelda i think....

    My favorit combat system is that one here

    I'm pretty sure I can get this style which is almost Zelda style but with some Pause menu for Skills, Inventory, also there are NPCs who follow the player and attack them.

    I will finish the Zelda style, then Upgrade the current interface so creating Items, Classes, NPCs, Tiles will be quicker.
    I'll take a note and do this after. I really liked these 2 games before... good memory :)

    Here is a little update.

    I'm changing the whole structure for this package which mean you will have to make a backup before updating for the next version.

    In the game, there will only have 1 GameObject on the left, all the other will be hidden.
    Also, all the Editor will be improved and automatically.
    Everything will be configurated into the editor itself.

    I will only show the variables which can be usefull for your game. Some of them are only needed for me in the background.

    I will update with all the changes next week.

    always late news, but here it is :)

    Currently, I've removed all the hard coded Enum so now you can create items, quests, quest objectif as you want.
    No more coding!.

    It is a pretty big job but in the end, everything will be working more quickly and it will be SOOO much easy for you.

    I don't have any ETA for the release, but it should be soon!

    Can't promise this week cause I need to test it lot, but next week should be a good target. Should!

    Hello all,

    We are almost there!

    Here is a little sneak peek about what's coming next.

    New editor menu!


    1st = Map Editor. (Tiles). Almost the same interface, but with new values.

    2nd = Character Editor.

    I've added all the old and new variables into this editor.
    Also, at the top there is a new feature which is awesome so you can create a character model.
    This is usefull when you want to create 15x Bad Bandits into a cave. You want them to look like the same.
    If you forgot to put a Helmet on their head... no trouble, just open up 1x of them and add the helmet... all the other which are on the same character model will be updated with the new helmet. This is a big time saver.
    You can also create a new character with the same model, but unlink him so you have all the same gear, but for a bandit boss which has the same cloth.. but no helmet and long hair, there you go.

    The dialog system is now in this interface too which mean you doesn't have to go into another script to modify what their saying. All in one place.

    3 - List & Datas


    Items - You will be able to create all your items there (gears, quest item, usable items there.)
    Quests - All the quests will be made there.. just like the screenshot above. You can choose in the map who will give the quest, who will give you the reward easily.

    Also the others are lists used in Quests, Items, Characters...

    4 - Settings


    All your Icons, Sounds, Musics, default settings will be handled here and automatically replaced in-game with your very own icons.

    I'm targeting 1 week to handle all the remaining bugs in this version and release something more stable :)
    I also need to do a very big update on the Docs and do some tutorial videos showing how to make your game.

    Very big update on the Editor.

    You can also try the updated Demo which contains now the 3x different battle. In the demo, you can switch easily from Hack N' Slash, Turn Based or Time Battle. Quests will continue to work even if the battle type is changed. Demo

    In Hack N' Slash, a little advice, equip 2x weapons then press X to get your weapons in hands.
    Then, just click Space bar to attack nearby enemies. This will kill them faster.

    Still working to make this package without any bugs or performance trouble.

    Creating multiple Save of the game just like any normal RPG game would be great. That's for sure :)

    So I haven't bought this yet. I played the demo and my character is getting stuck on the bridge and on rocks. Is this a glitch in the Unity player, and is there a way to tighten the character controller to my liking? I also was wondering when you will start work on saving and loading.

    I am currently busy right now with RL, but I think this would be a good idea to add Save/Load slots inside the game itself.

    Having multiple different games would be a good idea.

    Yes, you can modify all the code for the character controller without any trouble.

    I just purchased this asset and I literally cannot wait to dig in.

    I noticed mention of multiplayer and I think that would be wonderful. This asset has the makings of a super MMO. One thing however, I noticed mention of using Photon for that. For the love of everything that is good and wholesome in this world… Please do not use Photon! Using UNET would be infinitely more viable and scalable and accessible and so much better than Photon.

    Please keep this in mind. :)
