    One of only 3 goto assets for my solo indie company. Works straight out of the box. Does what it says on the tin. URP not supported, but it only took me 2minutes to convert it. Pure helicopter porn at its best. I love it—well-done, man.

    Definitely :D

    The reason it's not in the system yet is that I haven't finished the rope system I'm supposed to use (I want it to be fully physics-based and not use animations).

    Oh yea, I covered it up a little in the last update. The functions and variable as still in the FCS component but not public by default

    I couldn't finish the new integration to an acceptable level, so I decided to make the unfinished stuff private so as not to cause problems.
    I'm supposed to continue working on the AI once I'm done with the current project and I get my heli model (I'm having a custom helicopter made for the AI development)

    Send me an email so that I'll send you a copy of the old version with the public AI functions.

    Hi There,

    Does this asset have Vortex Ring State and Retreating Blade Stall Functionality?

    To an extent.

    The vortex ring state is currently modelled as an inflow dependency (if you descend too fast at low speeds, your blade AOA will grow and you'll rapidly lose lift) but I haven't modelled the pitch effects or retreating stall

    Yes, I've started working on the next update. The main focus is the autopilot systems but I'm hoping to add in some new analysis changes too

    I will dare to ask a silly question, I apologize in advance.

    I would very much like to get started in the world of the helicopter and the airplane and I see that the tutorials are good to create aircrafts.

    But ... is there a tutorial on basic fundamentals like hitting, landing, spinning, looping? What are the "flaps" for, how are they applied, when and for what (to name an example, but I mean any other concept)?

    At least in basic plan.

    I apologize.

    I was referring to something more "dummy", some basic manual of their own physics. I have the aircraft ones and I had a hard time understanding it (the handling, not the physics that have big manuals) and I wanted to buy the helicopter ones.

    But this is very good.

    Once you start getting confused with the theory, just search up actual flight videos to see "the theory" in action. That way you can couple what you know with what you see... It's easier to understand that way.

    You can also split the description into chunks and search for them individually e.g What the collective is and how it controls the helicopter via the blades or how the tail rotor controls the helicopter direction.
    You can then join each description together to get a full understanding of the system

    Hi,

    You have to start the engines first. Press the throttle button to get to 100% and then use the collective input. The default input key bindings are included in the base asset folder.

    Yes, the VR demo scenes are not included in the package.

    Hey Oyedoyin, in the latest version of the rotary package, in the Automation Demo scene, "Takeoff-Hover-Cruise", the AI Manager game object's script, FlightDirector.cs, currently prints both these statements if they're in the start function which messes up the demo since it's trying to check flaps on a controller type that doesn't exist.

    Where is the system figuring all that out and how can I make it just one of those?

    Also the ground on that scene let's the vehicle fall right through the floor.

    Awesome work on everything in the package, currently trying to use it for robotic simulation :)

    Both these statements in FlightDirector.cs print despite running the rotary aircraft only:

    I have to add a button that does this automatically... :)

    1a. Find and open the "Silantro_DEFINES.txt" file

    1b.


    2. Change all the states to a "0" like this


    3. Close and Reopen the project, you should get a notification in the console

    Howdy Oyedoyin1. Playing around with your asset. It appears there is a lot of love that went into this! I am having a very strange issue, I imported your asset and the followed the tutorial video but every time I run it, the chopper drops through the floor. I don't see anybody else who has this issue and wondering if I missed a step. Thanks for any support!
